They changed the ends to pressed. Old ends were machined. It’s harder, and annoying to snap them together. Elsewise, strong and good quality.

Whew it seems like it was more work than it should have been to find a USA made pole saw.Fortunately I found these USA made poles which are quality made, sturdy and hold up well with use. Highly recommend.

Sometimes three poles are not enough. I agree at 2.4 lb each they become heavy and awkward at that length. I place the assembled pole in a position to be lifted and park a rider lawn mower or golf cart at the bottom end. Then pick up the upper end a shove against the tire and lift the pole. Position pole into place making shure the length of the pole will give you good cutting angle to allow you to rest during cutting. I cut the other pole 4' from the male end attached a saw head to it. I added a 1-1/4" cane tip to the 2' female section.

When fully extended, no flex! Really fine quality!

Took some fuss for initial assembly as one female ferrule got a ding in it. I just rolled the mating end against it to round it back up and no further issues. They lock positively, unlock with expected minor effort, and added to the two poles that came in the pruning kit give me gobs of reach. Best of all the poles do not slip while sawing like all the telescoping pruning kits!Yes, storage is a minor concern as each segment takes up its own space, but I have a ceiling rack for my pool cleaning poles, so no bother at all.
