It works - mostly
The mechanism works, the boat floats, so its basically good. Two drawbacks - the gentle pressure of the water squirting out the top in three places in circles means that the boat spins in circles on the water instead of moving forward. But then the baby didn't mind this at all, not knowing much about boats going forward in real life. Secondly, which might actually be an advantage not a drawback, the red button on top can only be depressed by holding the boat or pressing against a solid surface, as it has some resistance. A child could not press it with one finger whilst it is in the water. This may be exactly what you want, or you could get fed up switching it on and off for the child.Overall, great fun and it essentially works and floats, so five stars.

Battery’s don’t last long
Yes it’s ok the battery’s don’t last very long and I used Duracell shame bout that.

As a gift needs batteries added.
This is a gift so no feedback on actual use, had to put 2AA batteries in and hope it lives up to its cute looks.
