Fire Retardant Floor Protection Mat for Fireplace (50 x 100 cm)

I have a laminate floor in from of real fire. Even with a mesh fire guard the emers get through. So after two or three marks on my floor bought this. Perfect. Rolls up is neat and no more damage to floor. Delivery was a bit longer than I'd thought bud idn't realise it was coing from outside UK so a couple more days is totally understandable. Quality product would recommend.

We needed this to place under our fire pit, which is on decking. Two fit perfectly. Been out in sun and rain and so far doing well. Waiting to use them with the fire pit, but they seem very good quality.

Does the job well. We were expecting it thicker, but it has been effective - smouldering cinders melted through a plastic dust pan we put on top of it accidentally but there was no mark on the mat or on the tile floor below. Slightly rubbery feeling texture so cinders do not "dust" off.

Great product and perfect for protecting wooden floor in front of log burner

Beware. I have just bought one of these (late November 17). But the product I actually received is completely different from that shown - it is of ugly shiny plastic both sides and called "Fuegomat". Not suitable for indoor use. Seller denies it is different. Looks like the product shown is not actually available and this is a fraudulent ad.

The mat I received was nothing like the one in the image so that's why I'm giving it a poor review. It's shiny black plastic and has an big ugly logo on one side. I'd return it but it's been dispatched from Barcelona, so not worth the return postage. The shiny black plastic looks terrible on my light coloured carpet - if it was the grey colour in the picture then it'd have been fine. I've dumped it outside under the bbq and am having to buy a different mat elsewhere to put in front of the log burning stove.

MD have changed the listing wording on this product since I bought it last year in July, then it was listed as a rug. I messaged them then about something and the message states 'Rug'. It will do the job it was bought for but I consider it slightly dangerous for in front of the fire. The mat is quite thin rolls up easily. When you stand on it and turn the mat ruckles up leaving quite big humps at times easy to catch your foot on, which might precipitate a trip. I have not tested it for the purpose I bought it for, but as the label says Tex Fire Welding Blankets Flame retardant Rug, I am sure it will be effective.
