This Drunken Satyr, found at the beginning of the 20th century, once decorated the garden of a luxurious villa in Herculaneum (la Casa dei Cervi); together with a Drunken Hercules, Our reproduction of this model is produced in the Vanocchio workshop. It is a bronze cast made, by the lost wax technique, as the original was in ancient Greece. Colouing, by patination is applied carefully, to enhance the volumes of the model and embellish it. It stands on a plinth made of dark fired clay that is designed to contrast with the sculpture and highlght its silvery green patina. Model and plinth, together, measure 17.5 x 8 x 8 cms. The copy was modelled by Elena Martin de Vidales in the gardens of the Sorolla Museum in 2015 and forms part of the Vanocchio workshop´s Hellenic Bronzes Collection.
