Making Miniature Oriental Rugs & Carpets

The book is beautifully laid out, with rugs grouped into a general area of origin, and then further information is given before the rug's pattern. The patterns, which are printed in full colour, are the best I have ever come across, with each big square broken down into a smaller grid of 10 x 10 squares. Thus one can always orientate oneself in the design, although careful counting is of course necessary. Vertical and horizontal centre lines are indicated, and patterns are always printed on one page, so there is no irritating confusion of working with a pattern over 2 pages. The rugs usually start with simpler designs, but every rug is a challenge in itself - no room for overconfidence here. I recommend this, and the subsequent book by the same authors, with absolutely no reservations whatsoever. They should be staples in any needleworker's library.

Meik and Ian McNaughton have put together a lovely set of illustrations for miniature oriental carpets. The charts are in color which is a plus, and their sample of oriental designs is good for miniaturizing. I appreciate this publication, as I do share their passion for this sort of needlework.

A must have for anyone who loves to stitch for a dollhouse. Small projects, and pretty easy to follow designs.

This shows some rugs, but it really is not worth the price.

Si on est fan bien sûr d'ouvrages à points comptés c'est une mine d'or et les grilles sont parfaites. A noter un + en ce qui me concerne : la "conversion" des fils utilisés en références DMC.
