As purchased, nearly unuseable... but if you're crafty and creative...
...it's actually kinda decent. The fatal flaws in this product are due to the "prong" (or "fork" or whatever it's called) and there's three of them:- The first (and most easily remedied) is the tether. I understand why it's there but in practice, it just gets in the way as you're rolling. I clipped the bungee cord off it after the first few times (still, not deducting a star) & this only made winding easier.- The second flaw is a manufacturing defect (minus 1 star). One of the prongs has an imperfection near the end of it. It's almost impossible to photograph but if you run your fingers over it, it's a rough edge. What this means for you is once you're done rolling a hand wrap and you go to pull the winder out, the thumb loop will catch on this imperfection and will unwind your wrap from the inside out (best case scenario) OR will damage the thumb loop (worst case scenario). I tried to remedy this by adding a single layer of electrical tape to the affected end.- The third & most critical flaw with this product is in its design (minus 2 stars). While the bracket itself is solid, heavy & feels high quality, the winder itself has another flaw on it that is tougher to remedy. If you like a somewhat tight wind on your hand wraps, the 2 prong on the winder tends to compress as you're winding. What this means is that when you're all done & ready to remove your wraps, the thumb loop gets stuck (again), but this time it's because the two prongs are now pinching the thumb loop. Pull on that winder hard enough when you're trying to remove & you'll pull the thumb loop out... unwinding the hand wraps from the inside. In the photos provided, I used brackets: one near the handle & one near the end. Those brackets will reduce the compression on the thumb loop from the prongs. The bracket near the handle stays on and the other will be added/taken off as you're loading/unloading a wrap. Without the use of these brackets, I this product would not be useable. If you're not looking to engineer a solution to this product's second & third flaw, I implore you to seek another productSide note: the brackets I used came from a nest cam product that I had lying around the house but you should be able to use something similar to achieve the same effect (i.e. some flat washers).

great addition to make a tough task easier
I have 3 boxers in the house and there are a lot of dirty wraps, once all cleaned its either roll them or deal with them folding over and making the wrap harder at the gym. This roller installed easy on the side of an old bookcase and we use it all the time. I did remove the cord that holds the pin as it kept getting caught up and in the way when turning the handle. great addition to home side of boxing, It's sturdy enough to be used in any gym, mounts well and handles lots of use.
