Easy Indian side dish or main dish
Tasty, easy-to-heat slightly spicy Indian spinach dish. We like it as a side dish in addition to another curry, along with rice & naan.

Quick dinner!
This is pretty good Chana. It is super fast to heat up. It has a nice blend of flavors and a touch of warm spices that are not “hot” or overpowering.

Authentic
As it says, it is authentic. Some may find it a bit on the hot side, but I usually add a little more red pepper or chopped serrano peppers. The daal itself is most probably masoor. The blend is very tasty, but a little on the watery side, so it may not be good with rice. I eat it like soup and sometimes have a small naan with it. One package is good for one light lunch. It is expensive, but part of that is because of the packaging. The company says that the packaging is designed to keep the daal fresh as it is free of preservatives and other additives.

Not bad, but also not amazing
I would honestly give it a 3.5 stars if I could. Its really very middling. Knocked down to 3 for amzn review since there are quite a lot of cons for me. Amzn wont allow half stars and I dont feel its worth 4.Pros:theres enough in the pouch for 2 mealsDistribution of ingredients is close to the advertising picture. They dont skimp out like tasty bite does. Although greens are a very dark color and not at all the bright green depicted on the cover. Think "cooked spinach" color.Very strong flavor that isnt quite like all the other instant indian meals. It has a sharper "tang" to it. No sauce, but more a shredded, oily, greens mixture. Like cooked spinach consistency.Lots of potatoes, but just enough greens to compliment the taste without overwhelming itNot spicy or hot, but a calm warming once youve eaten about half the pouch.Easy to dump in a bowl and heat for 90 seconds.Cons:Like other MTR meals, its very oilySmell is overwhelming when you cook it, you will need to turn the fan on for a while - smell lingers in the air. Not for those with sensitive noses. I found the smell unpleasant tbh. It doesnt really taste like it smells though thankfully.Very salty, bordering on too salty. Fixed by diluting with rice , veggies, etc.You will be tasting it for a while after youve eaten. Its going to overwrite whatever else you eat at the same time.Overall, its probably not something I would order again due to the strong smell when cooking. Strong scents trigger headaches for me.It is something that I wont have a problem finishing though, because the flavor is somewhat unique and its very filling as a warm winter meal. Definitely worth a try if you like Indian veggie meals, and want something that tastes different to all the other Indian pouch food. Its better than the 3* I rated it, but also not quite a 4* imo.

A good Indian restaurant is better
Of the ready to eat Indian entrees I have sampled, this one is meh. I have some average Indian restaurants near me and they do this dish better. Now, there are some places around me that do this worse. The peas and sauce are a little ok the bland side. You can taste a little heat but not much. Overall, I would probably recommend skipping this option unless you have no Indian restaurants near you and can't cook Indian food.

Very good!
This is very good. I have had the palak paneer previously and enjoyed it, so I am not surprised. I add this to jasmine rice and onions for a quick meal.
