This is a review of the Plumeet 13'' Large Wall Clock, Non-Ticking Silent Quartz Decorative Clocks, Modern Style Good for Home Kitchen Living Room Bedroom Office, Big 3D NumbersDisclosure: I offered this review in exchange for 20% discount on a subsequent purchase. This doesn’t change what I think of the clock or how I rate it. The fact that I want to make a subsequent purchase, regardless of modest discount, should attest to my opinion of these being good clocks. I am a returning customer.Summary - A good, large, clear, bold, high contrast clock, suitable for larger rooms or those with limited eyesight.Detail:-It’s early days, as I only received this last week, but my observations so far are as follow:-Size:- It is large - 13” / 33cm / 330mm overall diameter, the face measures 11 1/2” / 29cm / 290mm across and the outside circle of the numerals has a diameter of around 10 1/2” / 27cm / 270mm. This means that at a viewing distance of around 10 metres / 35 feet the dial face looks about as big as my gents’ wristwatch does when looking at that normally.At around 15m / 50 feet the clock face size appears to be about as large as a typical ladies’ watch face when viewed from a typical viewing distance.Readability: The black face with bold, white, arabic numerals and hands make for a high contrast and easily readable effect that really communicates the time of day - I would imagine making the clock ideal for a range of partially sighted people and superb for ultra-quick reading at distance for most of the population. The raised numerals do not detract from the legibility and may enhance it. Its size and clarity could make the clock rather dominant in a smallish room, where viewing distances are shorter. However, in larger rooms or possibly schools, medium sized offices or factory spaces its generous size should make this clock ideal.This clock is silent - or as near as makes no difference in over 99% of situations where a really quiet clock is required. I can only just detect any sound whatsoever (above daytime background levels) with my ear less than six inches from the middle of its face. At night time (when ambient sound levels tend to be lower) the sound would carry a little further, but probably be inaudible from more than a couple of feet away - and bear in mind this is a large clock. To put another way, this clock could be directly above an average headboard of one’s bed and I would be surprised if it were to be audible (although I haven’t tested these conjectures). It is therefore virtually silent.In my opinion, it has a simple design and clean elegance - in a clear, communicative, no-nonsense way. Were it truly weather-proof it would not be out of place in a public building or the platform of a railway station.Accuracy:- time will tell (!), but I bought the 10-inch version for my Mother about six months ago and have had no adverse reports - I guess the clocks share the same Quartz movement. She likes the clock.Battery life:- I cannot comment as yetHanging:- The clock is fairly light for its size and adeqately supported by the supplied hook which nails into plasterboard (dry lining) with four pins (also supplied) - but be careful not to lose the pins, as they need pushing or driving into the holes in the hook to start them off, otherswise they tend to fall out. It is a quick and straightforward job. In common with most clocks, hanging it on the hook may take several attempts as one cannot easily see through the small gap between clock and wall.I really like this clock for my room, which is a large, open plan space. The clock is sited at one end, above a window, and it is clearly visible at all viewing distances. It looks smart in that I enjoy the high-contrast black-and-white look and its bold simplicity. It is not the cheapest option at over £20 (GBP), but I think represents adequate quality, benefits from good functional and aesthetic design, a quiet movement and good value for money.Five stars.

Finaly a clock my wife can actually make out the time.... After purchasing lots of different clock styles for the kitchen, My wife states that she has trouble seeing the numbers and hands clearly.So she chose this one and is very happy with the contrast between the black background and large, simple numbers. Add to that the straight white hands and jerkless silent, motion and you have the perfect combination

I don’t write many reviews on Amazon but, very occasionally, I receive a product that I really like and is deserving of recognition. And I really like the 13 inch Plumeet Wall Clock. Not the cheapest clock on offer but a very handsome and well designed clock. However, although I liked the clock I loved the instructions that came with it. The clock has hidden attributes - it can walk! The instructions clearly state that when the clock walks incorrectly or stops walking, replace the battery. I’ve been keeping a very close eye on it and, so far, it has not moved! Other little gems in the accompanying instructions are “put a nail in with a hammer” and “do not hang the clock on rotten wood”. Great clock and wonderful instructions that raised a chuckle.

A good wall clock for any large room with it's large numerals, and silent. Glass face cover, no battery compartment cover for the single AA battery, very poorly written instructions ( made in China ), but obvious as to where the battery fits ( AA battery not included ), the hour and minute hands 'time setting wheel' on the back is plainly visible. The large numerals are 'extruded' from the back so stand out, quality of finish is good. The second hand 'sweeps' around rather than stopping with each second which looks good, easy to hang with or without the wall hanger, screw and wall plug included. All in all, bought for it's silence in the kid's bedroom and so far so good after a couple of weeks ! Pleased with the quality looking Plumeet silent, quartz, black clock with large white numerals so far after a couple of weeks. ( I haven't looked inside it to see if there's a 'quartz' whatever that is, but if it says it has one on the face of the clock I suppose it has ! )
