Love the catio! Our last cat perished via 2 coyotes, so a catio is now required. Our new full grown cat is size small only 7.5 lbs, but I think it is suitable for one in a medium size. I'm a 69 y.o. female and put this together in 3 hours with a helper. The packed carton weighed 60 lbs, so the unpacking was done the day before. Packing was efficient and secure. The instructions aren't bad and the drawings are pretty good, but here are some pointers. I used an electric drill with drill bits (a tiny bit to make some pilot holes) and Philips head screw bits (a medium and a small size). All parts were lined up in order around the work ares. All hardware bags were lined up in order on a small table. Step 3: Parts 2, 3 and 4 (walls) have an inside 'lip' to support the floor. Be sure to position the 'lip' at the bottom of the 3 walls. The shelf will be positioned correctly, too. Step 5: The ends of Parts 6 tend to split when the casters are screwed in place. Either pre-drill small pilot holes or maybe put the caster plates on at a slight angle instead of squaring them up. Between Steps 7 and 8: If not already completed, review Step 1 and, if necessary, bolt Parts 10 (shelf supports) to Part 14. Step 11: For the small house, Position Parts 7 and 11 so that the screw holes are at the bottom and screw them to the shelf. Step 12: For Part 9 (the small house roof), there are screw holes in the roof, but none on the tops of the walls, which shouldn't pose a problem. Step 14: Advice for applying Hardware Parts K (4 latch sets). For working comfort, lay the two hutches on their back walls with the hinged doors facing upwards. For me, the door positions did not change, but work gently since the doors aren't well supported when pressing down on them. Position each latch pair and mark all latch screw holes with a pencil. Pre-drill pilot holes with a tiny drill bit. Then screw on latches. Step 15: Use the leftover metal spacer from Hardware Part J with Part 22 (sisal ball) to make a more secure attachment. First thread the ball's rope up through the shelf hole. Then thread the rope through the spacer and tie a knot.

Your kitties will love it!
I'm very happy with this catio. My cats love it, I recently moved & wanted them to have some "outdoor" space while being safe! I didn't install the wheels yet as we need to build a platform since it was just a bit to low for the window. I like the slanted roof, as this will be helpful in the rainy season. Probably would be a good idea to waterproof seal the wood prior to use if you live in a wetter climate or order a water proof cover. It's not a high quality wood so use caution tightening the screws when assembling as to not split the wood. Easy to assemble with a hand drill (1 person took about 1.5hr). I love the look of it and my cats are super happy! 5 🌟

Little devil containment unit.
Bought this for a new 10 week old kitten for indoor use. Why ? Because I also have a jack russell terrier. She won't harm the kitten, she loves cats, but she can be a bit too intense. Anyhow. I put it together myself. I have back issues so I had to stop, start, stop, start. Even with that. Only took a couple hours. I did get help to lift the top level into place. Used an electric drill driver. Helped to speed things along. The wood is soft, but it works a lot better than I thought it would. The end result is a light but solid catio. I didn't assemble the box part . Didn't really seem like something the cat would use. Bottom line.. Little Lucifer adores his catio. He can come out to explore the house when I leave the bottom door open for him. And dashes back in there when he's had enough. It is more like a safe den for him than anything. Really great product.

Good critter condo
I bought this to keep my cat safe from being bullied by my other cats. It was an easy build with good instructions, and all parts/pieces included. I am using it indoors but it's suitable for outside. My only negative is the wood. They could have used a better grade. I'm not sure it would last very long outside.

Solid and spacious
Spacious, fairly easy to assemble. Directions were a bit challenging but once together quite solid. We have a bigger one that ended up needing reinforcements but this one does not.

Stylish, sturdy and portable
My cats love this two level catio. It’s a nice size for 2 cats and the look is very stylish. I’ve used cat tents before but wanted something more sturdy for safety and to use in slightly windy conditions. I like not having to set up a tent every time and take it down. Easy to open doors, I just put them in, no set up like the tent. The materials are a little flimsy and wood chips easily. It’s recommended to coat with a wood protector and I will be doing that right away. This will be stored outside so I will put a tarp over it for extra protection from the elements. When snowing I’ll probably bring it in the garage to keep it from ruining. The assembly wasn’t too difficult. I did it mostly by myself but needed an extra person to lift the top part and put it on the bottom part and also to hold the shelves steady and put some screws in. Definitely read through all the instructions a few times before doing anything and get familiar with all the pieces. I had to double check myself several times to avoid putting a piece in wrong. Took me several hours but it was enjoyable, especially being able to use an electric drill. Hopefully it will hold up for long time. My cats weigh 13 pounds and 7 pounds. The natural wood floors and shelve boards are thin, I can see them bend a little with their weight. We’ll see. So far I’m pleased with this purchase. For the price it’s a good value.

Good product for the price. The size is just right and the cost was fair. It's not the most heavy duty, boards are thin soft wood, but it holds up our big 15 pound boy and his 8 pound sister no problem. The roof is a big slab of asphalt. The assembly was easy enough, the big panels are all preassembled, so you just need to put them all together, add the shelves, box and roof. It took us about 2 hours. It does smell strong, which we believe is the stain used on it. But the smell was pretty much gone the next day. We added some carpet for them to claw because they love that. And its also more comfortable to lay on. Overall 5 stars because i didn't expect a super heavy duty product for the price range, and what is provided is more than enough. We'll see if it stands the test of time with sun and rain this summer. It's the cats 2nd time in it. Our little girl isn't sure yet, but our big boy seems very pleased. Putting them in together seems to be giving our little girl more confidence.

My boy would fuss anytime I brought the harness out to walk him but he is so much more relaxed & happy after using this catio instead. He gets so excited that he runs to the door & jumps into my arms to take him out now. For assembly, it took about 2hrs with 2 ppl & using a power drill. The wood panels are soft and bendy and some of the staples holding them together released so I ended up having to use glue for a few pieces to hold better. I highly recommend having a tarp ready when purchasing! I made the mistake of not getting one to protect from Ontario weather over the summer and had to remove the scratch post immediately after I noticed mold speckles starting to form on the sisal. Aside from the minor hiccups I experienced, I would say it’s a great investment if you take care of it properly. Im sure I’ll do some adjusting but all in all, happy kitty happy life!😸

A perfect catio. I rotate my three cats in it daily. It fits 2 cats at a time perfectly. It took them a few times in it but now they love to go out for an hour or so at a time frequently during the day. I will be bringing it inside in the winter so I can make it last longer and I didn’t attach the top and bottom together as it is easier to transport that way.
