Instructional and helpful
This book is a great resource for those looking to self reflect and learn emotional regulation. I like how each chapter recaps on the definitions and terms and then follows these concepts into a workbook-style journal exercise. Much of the activities, like exercise and having a well-balanced lifestyle, is key to having peace of mind, and a practice I can attest it works, if you're a highly anxious and self-critical person. While I have not exercised on the plethora of journaling prompts the author presents, I look forward to the self-discovery process.

Givning Your MInd a Break
Peter's book systematically tries to breakdown our thought processes in a real-life scenario where our thoughts from both internally and from external sources are controlled by filtering out negative influences that tend to weigh us down emotionally. The emotional part effects our spiritual and physical well-being. It is all one and the same. As an overthinker many of Peter's points hit home as my filters need to be controlled.

A look at complexity
This book does a good job of helping you to understand and appreciate and control your mind and emotions. I really like how the author works in mindfulness practices and mixes them with science-based strategies to really get at the causes of your emotions.

Helpful suggestions
I like this part of the book where it says about should statements. This I should or I must can be a trap that will make us set unrealistic expectations upon ourselves. I really like that part, because overall, we need to know ourselves, when we totally know who we are we will instantly know how to control our emotions.I like the suggestions too towards every end of the chapter. The book also focused on overthinking which I think most of us suffer from and there are somewhat exercises that can be done so I like that too.I enjoyed reading this book, I found a lot of helpful suggestions that I will try.

Lewis offers a treasure trove of innovative techniques and personal growth tools that are both insightful and actionable, making this book a beacon for those seeking to enhance self-awareness and emotional regulation. What sets this guide apart is its hands-on approach to mindfulness and emotional management. Each chapter concludes with an exercise that's not only practical but also immediately applicable, allowing readers to put theories into practice and witness real-time transformation in their approach to handling complex emotions and thoughts. The exercise at the end of each chapter, particularly, resonated with me, providing a tangible way to apply the lessons learned and observe their impact on my daily life.

Insights into overthinking
This book is a valuable resource that offers practical steps for attempting to manage and possibly master overthinking, thereby helping to alleviate a certain amount of stress and assisting in managing emotions. It acknowledges that overthinking can be a real problem. While I'm not a big fan of journaling, it was interesting to see how it was integrated into the book with helpful exercises.
