Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) As a photography hobbyist, I’ve gone through a few tripods, and this SmallRig 72" aluminum tripod is by far the most solid one I’ve owned in this price range. It’s lightweight but very sturdy, even at full height. The flip locks are fast and reliable, and the fluid head is a great bonus—panning is smooth and steady. I’ve used it with my DSLR and it held up great with no shake or drift. Handles heavier lenses too. The tripod folds down compactly, and the included case is well-made. Setup is quick, and the overall build quality feels premium. While it doesn’t have some advanced features like a monopod option, for everyday photography—landscapes, long exposures, and portraits—it’s more than enough. It's easily adjustable for when you need the extra height too. Highly recommended if you want something dependable without spending a fortune, I paid ~£70 which I think is a bargain. Of course if you opt for a carbon fibre model it will be much lighter but even at 1-2kg it really doesn't weigh much. You get a lot for your money with Smallrig and this does not dissappoint.

I bought the SmallRig 3935 tripod mainly for travel and quick studio setups, and it instantly became my go-to. It feels sturdy, smooth, and reliable without being a pain to carry around. The aluminum build strikes the right balance between strength and weight, and the twist locks are quick and secure. The ball head moves fluidly and holds position even with a heavier camera setup. I tested it with the Sony A7 IV and a 24–70mm lens, and it stayed rock solid. The monopod conversion is also a nice touch for run-and-gun situations when you do not want to drag the full setup around. SmallRig added all the thoughtful details that cheaper tripods ignore, like a proper quick release, smooth adjustment knobs, and a carrying bag that does not feel like an afterthought. Everything just works. It is not a lightweight travel tripod, but it is built to last and feels trustworthy on every shoot. For the price, it easily outperforms several “premium” brands I have owned. Tested with Sony A7 IV and 24–70mm lens, excellent stability and smooth ball head control even on uneven surfaces.
