A great gift for the physicist
Bougjt this to give as a gift. Another family member let me read it in the past and it is a facinating read! A great gift for the physicist, engineer, or architect who also happens to be Christian.

Fascinating book
My 14yo son loves this book. He uses it for part of his science home school curriculum this year and is always telling me intriguing things he's learned from the daily readings.

Amazing Information!
This book has such amazing information in it comparing our insects and animals compare with man's creation. These are things people would not have thought of. I would refer this book for reading to all--what an eye opener!

Good collection of examples
I bought this book because I work in biomaterials and biomimetics plays, at least for me, a very important role there. Although the book title does not include the term biomimetics, its contents have got every single thing to do with imitating nature. I use power point slides with published papers on selected examples from this book to pose topics for discussion and to "break the ice" from time to time in the classroom. I do not give it five stars because some of the examples are so old and some are distorted from the way they happened. Some of the questions are extremely basic, perhaps thought for little kids. All in all, I consider it a good book and it is all there together and you do not have to search and search the web to collect facts.

These are the perfect length for young and old alike to draw you into thought and/or discussion.

An eye opener
Who would have thought so much of nature, God designed, would inspire development of so many things we could be using in every day life. Awesome!

but the Biblical themed Intelligent Design really put me off
Had high hopes, but the Biblical themed Intelligent Design really put me off. Totally bought by mistake without clearly reading the reviews closely enough, but if you're looking for scientifically-backed, evolution-supported secular books about biomimicry - this is not it!

Ok
Book is OK, kind of in between young school age and older. Definitely requires parents to be engaged, with isn't a bad idea anyway. Gifts to my nieces and nephews.

Fascinating! But rather bland...
The book is delivered in 'bite sized' sections, by introducing each feature of design; correlating a particular feature in nature, with something we've designed/manufactured, based on that natures feature. For example, dragonfly wings and the military strategy to mimic these on surveillance planes. The book deserved having colour examples included, and also better photographs of the examples in question. Internally, it's all black & white, which, in my view detracts from the glossy cover. All of the text was well written, with good explanations of each design being mimicked.
