Work Very well! Good sound quality, long battery life, slightly smaller than many too. Just remember to switch Off when putting in the charger case.

I have been wearing my ION OTC hearing aids for 10 days. Are they as good as the $2450 pair purchased 5 years ago? Not quite. However, they are very close for a tenth the cost if you add in audiograms, fittings and setup fees. You only have to take the ION hearing aids out of the box, take a few minutes to read the instructions, place them in your ears and begin hearing every sound around you. Just like the expensive brand I can adjust ION hearing aids for different sound conditions. I dine out frequently and really appreciate the directional sound setting. I prefer to use setting 3 for TV. It seems to brighten the voices inside or outdoors. Since I live in a quiet area, I hardly require the fourth setting. Setting one or three works for me. I am sure that some ION users require the setting as our hearing problems are all different. Finally, the charger. I only have to put the hearing aids in the charger night and put them back in my ear canal when I arise in the morning. I am extremely happy with this purchase.

I have tried other brands in the past and had to send them back because of very poor quality sound, back ground noises and whistling. These Audien ION hearing aids seem to work great for me and I've only had them on for 30 minutes. I can listen to my TV now at less then half the normal volume and my wife doesn't have to yell at me or repeat everything twice. I couldn't be more pleased with the quality and I know it takes time to get used to them. I'm hearing sounds now that I haven't heard in years. I'm 87 years old and have had hearing issues for at least 20 years. I'm so happy with these hearing aids and I highly recommend them to anyone with mild to severe hearing loss.

I ordered these as a cheaper option for my father in law who is no in nursing care as we didn't want his $4200 hearing aids to get lost of stolen. They worked great for the price. lasted all day and easy to use. Then the left unit stopped working about 40 days after purchase so we could not return them. I contacted Audien and explained my situation. They responded wanting to help. They sent me a new set quickly and stayed in contact with me until they got to me. Thanks you so much Audien...

Be sure to buy Ion Pro 2. I have them both and give Ion 2 four stars. Probably one of the best OTC BTE HEARING AIDS out there.

I would like to share what I have learned after a very long journey learning about and choosing my first hearing aid. The first question was trying to justify the enormous price difference between prescription and OTC. I visited audiologists – very high prices, they explained that much of the extra cost was for follow-up support, something I didn’t know would be so important. After reading about the new advancements in OTCs I zeroed in on the Audien brand, and ordered the Ion. I had a hearing test and found that I have fairly significant hearing loss, so was surprised that there was no adjustment period. The 2 buttons on the body were easy to operate. One button is just On and Off - simple. The other one is a rocker-type with a choice of pushing either the top or the bottom. With an additional choice of a long press vs. a sharp tap it is easy to access any of four modes or any of 9 volume settings. The four modes are Conversation, Noisy, Vehicle, and Outdoors. They all are useful, except Outdoors, it doesn’t seem to make a difference. Conversation is my default mode, perfect for around the house and tv. The Noisy Environment mode helps me a lot in a restaurant, where in the past I had trouble hearing conversation over noisy people and glassware clinking. One problem – when I set the volume above 5, I experienced sound distortion and squealing. So - my first experience with Audien customer service. I was able to speak to someone immediately – no “you are number 342 in line and will be helped in order”. Their advice to experiment with the different size domes did help somewhat, but I found that I really didn’t need to use the top volumes anyway, so decided to ignore the issue. I spoke to Kendel, who was very knowledgeable and had unlimited time to discuss every little thing that I had a question about. I have now been in constant contact with her personally whenever I have a question, both by phone and email. Very impressive. I highly recommend the Ion. I forget that I have them in, I don’t get lost in group conversations anymore, and I’m not spending most of my time saying “What?” and “Could you speak up”. And I’m now trying to decide what to spend all the money on that I saved by not buying a prescription hearing aid!
