80mm Black Steel Mesh Filter Grill, 2.2mm Hole Diameter

This grill works fine for its intended use. I'm not sure why it's called a "filter" grill, other than it can filter out the big chunks. There's no actual filter in the grill, but maybe it's designed to cover one.I'm using mine to cover two three-inch holes in an amplifier cabinet: one for the fan exhaust, and one to bring cool air into the cabinet.I really want the cabinet to LOOK nice, but the holes were necessary. I painted the inside of the cut-out hole, and I painted a square just big enough for the grill. Then I went to Lowe's and looked in their specialty screw section until I found the screws I'm using to hole the grills. (They are Hillman Oval Phillips Trim SMS Black 10 x 3/4, and I think they're automotive trim screws).I'm pleased with the way it looks, considering it's just an air hole with a cover over it.

Looks good, but very restrictive. I'd imagine it reduced output of fan by 50% and causes back pressure. My fan now sends air back into the case. Don't really have a way to test it cfm. Maybe I need a static pressure type fan like my Corsair 120mm SP to force air through the grill. If you need high flow go with the wire type.

This fan grill is well made with no sharp edges and a good paint job. The bump out is perfect for circular fan ports.
