Rick Steves Scandinavia

The 2024 edition was excellent
I just came back from the Rick Steves 2 week Scandinavia tour, and I relied heavily on this book for Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. The walks were really good, and all the listings were accurate and helpful. The background information was good, too.It is 900 pages but somehow feels about a third that size as far as carrying it around. The Lonely Planet Scandinavia 2023 guide book, FYI, is totally useless. They changed their format, or something else, I don’t know, but it was totally useless. I took both books on my trip.Make sure to get the updated 2024 edition as it is about 150 pages longer and even better than the previous edition.

I always use Rick Steves guidebooks for Europe travel locations along side Lonely Planet guides.

Not Comprehensive!
While this book claims to be comprehensive, it’s is not. It highlights things to do in major Scandinavian cities, however, it does not give any details on the countries as a whole. I purchased this book to help plan our trip to see the Northern Lights and travel between Norway and Sweden….IT DOESN’T EVEN MENTION THE NORTHERN LIGHTS. How can this be considered “comprehensive “ when it leaves out entire regions??? I’ve been happy with RS books in the past, but this was a disappointment and will be returned.

This guide has complete coverage of Scandanavia.
I liked the in-depth coverage of every city and attraction. Lacking info about the ferries in the Baltic.
