Preservative
This is a good preservative as it helps to slightly lower pH, can be used in hot concoctions also.

Most natural product I could fine
Making organic care products, I needed to use a preservative. This was the best I could find. Happy with it

Good for making a hair serum
This was one of the safest preservatives I could find for my caffeine hair serum. It mixed well into my formulation without altering texture or consistency, and being paraben free is great as I am trying to keep it healthy. It does work, as my serum hasn't gone off, I still keep it in the fridge, but it definitely lasts longer. It does only work within specific pH ranges, so checking this is important. The 60ml bottle lasts a while since only a small amount is needed per batch. It’s a good option if you want a reliable preservative for DIY projects, but proper formulation knowledge is key to using it correctly.

Great preservative you can rely on.
I have used Optiphen before and find it works well to keep my DIY formulations useable beying a few days. It’s nice to not have to keep things in the fridge and use up after a few days due to the water phase. I’m using it for homemade shampoo and face and body moisturisers and given the tiny percentage needed to be effective, this small bottle should last for AGES.

Don't use if you care about the environment
Yes, even when diluted in handwash and tap water, Myoc Optiphen still poses an environmental risk because its key ingredient, phenoxyethanol, is harmful to aquatic life and does not completely break down in wastewater treatment.

...
As preservatives go Optiphen is definitely a good choice but I have to be honest and say I didn't recall it being as expensive as it was for such a small bottle. It's a plus that its free from Parabens and formaldehyde and it's alos useful thats it oil soluble. A great choice for hobbyists or crafters making their own recipes.

I ordered this Optiphen plus because I make my own handmade lotion. I typically pay $6.99 per ounce from a trusted source outside of Amazon that I’ve ordered through for years. This 2 ounce bottle on sale for eight dollars and some change is a great deal. The price point is fair even at full price at $10.99. The look of the product falls in line with the look of products I’ve ordered from trusted vendors. I haven’t actually used this product yet, but the only true test is to add it to my lotion and see if the lotion holds up for an entire year. I didn’t wanna wait that long to make this review but should it not work out I will update my review.

This is a really good preservative it helped keep my skincare products good and helped it spoiling for a long time. It's been a few months and the product still seems to be doing well so I would definitely recommend this was really easy to use. Just don't exceed one percent usage.

I’ve been using Optiphen Plus Preservative in my DIY skincare and haircare projects, and I’m loving it! It’s been super helpful for making my own lotions, sugar scrubs, and even serums. I usually stick to small batches since I tend to use them up quickly, but I love that this preservative keeps everything fresh. It’s so easy to use—just 0.5% of the recipe, and it blends right in. It gives me peace of mind knowing my homemade products are safer and will last without the need for parabens. I’ve never had an issue with the products going bad. It’s a great option if you’re looking for a natural preservative that’s both effective and simple to use. Definitely recommend if you’re into DIY skincare!

This product is super useful if you like to mix up your own lotions, creams, serums, etc. To my understanding it is only to be used in topically applied products, so I am not using it in things like saline nasal spray or vitamin C serum used for microneedling. I would love it if the company would provide more information on when to use this product vs. the Germall product as I am unclear on which one should be used when, but I'm happy with this product!

This is an excellent preservative to use in do it yourself skincare and haircare formulas. It's a great alternative to using parabens as preservatives. Optiphen Plus contains phenoxyethanol, caprylyl glycol, and sorbic acid. I use it to preserve my formulations which have a pH below 6.0 at a concentration of 0.5%. My formulas which have used Optiphen Plus have continued to smell fresh until I have used them up.
