Soooo tasty and natural with no added sugar. Been having this for years.

This is a review of the Apple & Pear version of this spreadI have been buying this 100% fruit spread now for over 15 years and it is just simply divineFor anyone out there that likes their jam/fruit spreads, but hate all the added sugars and chemicals that get added to them then this is the product for youWhen you first open the tub (which is a hefty size) you're quite startled to see what looks like a black tar consistencyIt is very thick, concentrated in favour and a little goes a long way, so the tub should last you a decent amount of timeIt tastes pretty much how you would expect, of apples and pears, but although it is not overly sweet like a regular sweetened jam, it certainly isn't tart or bitter either, it's just a perfect balance...thick but smooth in texture, no bits to get stuck in your teeth :)I workout a considerable amount, and so need to get in plenty of carbs and protein into my diet, good healthy calories to fuel my body...so my favourite breakfast of champions using this spread is: wholewheat toast (no butter), 1 teaspoon of apple & pear spread, 1 tablespoon of crunchy peanut butter - simple but absolutely delicious and tastes like your eating a snickers bar because of the taste & texture...complete with a side 0% fat yoghurt or cottage cheese for a workout mealAnother great snack is a warm pitta bread with this spread inside the pocket with mashed bananaI used to buy this from Holland & Barrett, but now that amazon are selling it in packs of 6 I'll be ordering from here from now on to make sure I'm stocked upCan't recommend this product highly enough, just delicious, low calorie, no fat, and 100% wholesome goodness product that will give you your sweet fix without all the nasties and sugars...just 2 ingredients, apples and pears - you can't beat that can youThere are 2 other flavours also, but I enjoy this one so much that in over 15 years I've never found the need to, may just have to though, for review purposes your understand lol

This is very nice, if you know Dutch appelstroop then this is just like it, I love it on toast with butter.You don't need to keep it in the fridge,It keeps fresh in the cupboard for weeks.It is dark coloured and has a consistency a bit like jelly, it spreads very easily and you can have a thin layer or thick layer just as you like.A great change to jam if you're bored of strawberries or apricots. Highly recommended. Bought on subscribe and save with four other items and saved 15%, happy customer.

I used to buy this spread many years ago, then it was discontinued in my usual shops and I was very disappointed. So I was delighted when I came across it, by chance, on Amazon.I bought the 6 tubs set - the expiration date is 2019, so I have plenty of time to enjoy, though I doubt they'll last that long!The spread is very dark brown and gooey (and looks savoury - like a yeast extract) but it tastes wonderfully sweet. All that's in it is pears and apples with a touch of citric acid - nothing else added. The fruit is cooked and reduced until it gets to a tar like consistency.It's great when spread on toast or muffins, and can be added to some recipes in place of sugar.

Great stuff, difficult to find in shops now, so glad I can get it online.

Lovely stuff - just like I had 60+ years ago in Belgium! A bit runnier than I remember so a bit difficult to spread.

I have some genuine sirop de Liege I bought last time I was there and I had a spoonful left. I ate that, then I ate this spread, then a bit more of the liege syrup. Can't tell the difference. I know what dates taste like and I like them, but the dominant flavour is apples and pears.Really nice how this came on the day after I ordered it, just in time for me to make Liege meatballs, which were well received by guests, in fact one said it was the best meatballs he's ever had. Really pleased how this hard to source food is now readily available from amazon.
