Disappointed
Had them a couple of months now and have used them a lot. Still waterproof, unlike the Inuvic boots I bought last year which leaked terribly within a month. Comfortable, and the size 11 fitted as I wanted. Still looking almost new.UPDATE: I originally gave these boots 5 stars. Sad to say that after less than 4 months they started to leak badly. Over the last few weeks I've dubbined them and Granger bees-waxed them but still can't stop them letting water in. At least with the Inuvic boots mentioned above I was able to nurse them through a year using Granger's bees-wax.I never had a reply to my three emails to the vendor. In the end I approached Amazon who immediately responded and arranged a free return and refund. Amazon as usual - amazing service. Wish I could say the same of the vendor.

Great boots (18 months later and still great)
Great pair of boots. Didn't need to break them much. Walked through Glencoe in Scotland with these. Walked up hills, through rivers, and at one point I had to go down a hill with no path. These are highly recommendUpdate. Bought these on 25th June and these boots are still comfy and waterproof. I've worn this hillwalking, through rivers/puddles. I would highly recommend these and will be a returning customer.18 months later and I still wear these daily. Still waterproof. The inside is slightly wearing down, will be buying a new pair soon30/11/20 update. I have had these boots for way over 2 years and they are fantastic. They still hold up in all conditions. This is the best company for boots

practical and comfortable
These replace my well worn boots that had many miles of walking mostly over mountainous terrain lasted 3 years. So I’m hoping these will match and exceed my expectations ,Very comfortable but the laces could have been longer, easily rectified by buying a pair of replacement laces , they need to be at least 150 c/m long. They look like a good solid pair and with the added bonus of having less seams resulting in the reduced likelihood of water ingress. Will update my review after a few miles of mountain trails.

Most comfortable footwear I own
Tremendous and after several months getting even better.I use them daily for my 2 mile scramble down our coastal path to the beach. Great on slippery rocks with superb grip and excellent ankle supportKeep them waxed with boot dubbing and will remain w/proof. I even found myself using them during our great UK summer as they are so comfortable. I will be getting another pair to take on my winter holiday as such great vfm.

There not any good as a walking boot , maybe more for the bathroom or a handy door stop :(
I SHOULD OF PAID ATTENTION TO THE OTHER REVIEWS. This is the second pair of these boots I have bought , the first pair I returned because a lace hook came off , but against my better judgement I bought another pair ( the problem was they are a very comfortable boot) so decided to give them a second chance, well the picture tells the story. Only 4 weeks old , and there on there way back . As they say twice bitten...

They are boots
This item like most things needs to satisfy 3 criteria.1) They've got to work i.e. do the job they're designed to do.2) They've got to be repeatable i.e. whatever they're designed to do they need to do the same thing each time.3) They've got to be reliable i.e. they've got to last.Received them Saturday night. Put neatsfoot on them after trying them in the house. Found the were very comfortable. Bought size 13 to make certain they were big enough. They are too big but reasonable leather, good lace positions, walking socks on top of thin ones and wool felt insoles make them a good fit for me.Put more neatsfoot on them the next day before going off for a 5 mile trial. Took a carrier bag with a pairof old trainers in it for changing out when blisters began to form. This is the first pair of boots that have been comfortable from the start. Even the original Brasher boot wasn'tas good as these. My Point 1) is therefore satisfied. Similarly for my Point 2). Can't comment on my Point 3)since I've only had them a month.I bought a pair of Brasher (now Berghaus) Hillmasters in the 1990's and after breaking them in found them tobe excellent boots at just under £100. They began to wear so I got another pair this time paying £175. I thoughttwice about doing this but went ahead since I thought they were good boots. The left boot was OK but the right boot never softened up regardless of neatsfoot and use. They've lost acustomer due to that.My Hillmasters suffered cuts due to rocks, eyelets coming out etc. so I don't think the comments relating toJohnscliffe boots are enough to bother me. All boots can suffer these things.I have a friend who did some shepherding for a while and he found that used army boots lasted him a year. There was a similar review from another shepherd and that's what sold me on the Johnscliffe boots.Maybe another pair of Hillmasters would be better but I can get 3 pairs of Johnscliffe boots for the same price.I prefer to pay extra for something that might last but if a boot manufacturer can't supply boots of roughly thesame leather characteristics in a pair of boots it's time for me to avoid that brand.I'll buy another pair when these expire hoping that the design isn't "improved" by then.

my BOOTS REVIEWED AFTER 1 YEAR.
johnscliffe boots. my boots have been very comfortable even on the first walk no blisters or foot pain. The boots are very well made and have remained totally waterproof over the last year. The sole as not come away from the upper like every other pair of walking boots I've owned. I now dubbin them after every walk with punch clear dubbin only£3 a tin and a very good product. would i buy the boots again? yes without a dought Tony.

Recommended walking boots
TBH - I have only had the boots for a short while. Feelings so far:-Bad Points* Leather upper wasn't great quality.* My feet feel tilted inwards a little, putting pressure on my knees when walking* Size is a little tight for me - more like a 9.75 than a size 10Good Points* Have broken in quickly* Feel comfy and my heel is well cushioned despite issues mentioned above (once broken in)* Excellent gripWill have to see how well they last. For the price - very happy, recommended.
