Long SDS Plus Drills 600mm Masonry Drills 12mm, 16mm & 24mm TE698

I don't usually leave reviews unless a product is particularly good or particularly bad. I'm please to say that these drill bits are particularly good! I needed to drill a number of 25mm holes through 500mm of solid granite. Suitable drill bits were looking pretty pricey, until I saw these - A set of three SDS drill bits for around half the price of one 25 mm bit of similar length. Surely, this has to be too good to be true!? The bits were advertised as three day delivery, but arrived in two, which was a good start. I cracked on with drilling a total of seven 25mm holes, going straight in with the 25mm bit rather than wasting time drilling pilot holes. I wouldn't say it was like a knife through butter but steady progress was made and all the holes were through in around an hour. Checking the tip, I expected to see a worn out drill bit, ready for the bin, but it was actually still in almost new condition! (see photo) The only minor niggle with these bits is that the flutes are quite shallow so rubbish clearance can be a problem. I overcame this by regularly pulling the bit back to clear out the rubbish and to prevent the bit binding in the hole. A minor problem really and easily overcome, once you realise what's going on. One other thing to be aware of, and this is nothing to do with the quality of this product. - If you only have a battery drill, you'll be regularly recharging your batteries. I got about 450mm out of one full charge. I'm happy I had a mains powered SDS drill handy! So, all in all, these bits are great quality at an excellent price.

Very heavy duty set of 3 masonry drills. 2 ft. long and sharp. The smallest easily cut through brickwork for a cable. Have not tried the 2 larger ones yet but they look very capable. Excellent value for money and quick delivery. Great purchase

Needed to drill a 1" hole through 22" of very old wall, mostly solid stone, and this set have just done a great job. Can't speak to longevity but seems top quality - kept hammering through for like an hour (with breaks to let drill and bit cool down) using first the 12 then the 16 and finally the 24mm. Just have an old but solid Bosch blue drill (not SDS) so fiddly getting to sit solid in the chuck but can be done.

Used the 16mm drill through a 390mm thick cavity wall. It worked well but with one reservation, the shank that fits into the drill has an unusual shape with two lobes. In my 3 lug chuck it runs slightly eccentric so you get a bigger hole than the bit size would suggest.

Just needed to drill through a thick wall and through a chimney. Hot knife though butter, comes into mind. Brilliant!
