Thinking Stories to Wake Up Your Mind

This book is full of short stories with no ending. So the children are asked to create their own endings and analyse the stories. In my opinion, the stories are very engaging and very well written. There are lot of different questions a parent can ask a child about a particular story, its content, behavior of certain characters, moral of the story etc.

Great book to get children thinking and writing. Recommend.

Have only just purchased this but used it for year 2 class assembly and it certainly got minds thinking and tongues talking. It's a good quality book with supporting notes on how to use each story and different lines of enquiry that could be used to explore alternative outcomes. Already it's made me look at my own teaching and how I could deliver in various ways to achieve more meaningful outcomes. Very pleased.

Great book that encourages Bloom's taxonomy style of thinking for children. Easy to use with thought provoking stories and suggested activities.

Fantastic stories with great activities to get kids imagination going. I use this book with my students both at school (years 7-11) and when doing private tuition with students aged 5-11.

Philosophy for Children lite. The stories are great - all I can say is I wish my teachers had such stories to tell. Still waiting for the right time to use it - but it's all there.

Have used this in school with a variety of junior year groups and they really liked it. Very interesting discussions as follow-ups and also plenty to talk about as you read.

Use this with a year 5 class who can't get enough of these stories - one of the best resources I have bought in a long time. Easy to use and provokes huge amount of thinking and discussion.
