Since ancient times Nomad's tribes took one of the most important parts in Uzbek History and Traditions. Nomad's culture rendered a great influence to Uzbek Applied Art. Therewere very many of Nomads decorative articles which became very popular for home decoration. Most of Nomads articles has been made from wool and used as decoration for Nomad's yurt. However all of Nomads articles , even very small bags and pendants always had their own practical function. One of the most popular of Nomads articles is a Tent Band, which has various sizes, ways of usage, techniques of production etc. This one item is an Old Uzbek Wide Long Woolen Tent Band for the Yurts of Nomads. Yurt is a round hut with wooden framework and felt cover. It is a traditional form of habitation of Central Asian Nomadic people. This kind of Tent Bands have been used for strengthening bases of Nomads yurts and as decoration. The region of the item is the South of Uzbekistan. The age of the item is second part of the 20th century. It is made of wool. The pattern of the Tent Band is composed of mysterious nomadic motifs. All dyes are natural.
