So Cool - EXCEPT - BUT
Easy hardware install (just follow app instructions) but I had to reset doorbell and reconnect because I didn't properly connect chime.I hesitated purchase because it doesn't use existing doorbell but I like the Roku chime MORE since it has option for selecting from several different chimes. One review said Roku chime is too low. NOT true. Need to adjust the volume in the app. Can make it super loud. Also, since I have a Roku box connected to my TV, when someone rings the doorbell a small box of the video appears on the lower corner of the screen that I can click on and expand. See photo.Doorbell does all the other needed functions: 2-way sound, motion detection, photo capture, phone notification (may require $40/yr subscription).EXCEPT when I select the Smart Detection menu option I get "FailedInternal service error" so I am not able to specify/setup detection rules.BUT I deleted the doorbell from the app and reinstalled it with the reset button and now ALL working!REQIRES 2.4g network!!!

Video replay failure
This wired video door bell will not replay on mobile phone running Android 14. Wireless model works fine. Roku support just says they are working on it. Android 11.& 12 work fine. I will not change phones just because Roku cannot fix this.

I couldn’t be happier with my purchase!
I recently installed the Roku Smart Home Wired Video Doorbell and Chime, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase! The 1080p HD video quality is incredibly clear, both during the day and at night thanks to the impressive night vision. The ultra-wide view ensures I can see everything happening around my front door, giving me peace of mind. The motion and sound detection work perfectly, sending me alerts instantly, so I’m always aware of any activity. The 2-way audio feature is a game-changer—it’s super convenient to talk to delivery people or visitors without opening the door. Plus, it integrates seamlessly with Alexa and Google, making it easy to check the camera and control settings through voice commands. The included 90-day subscription was a great bonus, allowing me to test out the extra features without any added cost.Overall, this doorbell has exceeded my expectations, offering top-notch security and convenience. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to upgrade their home security system!

Peace of mind!
I recently installed the Roku Smart Home Wired Video Doorbell & Chime, and I’m really impressed. The 1080p HD video and ultrawide view give me a clear picture of everything happening at my doorstep, even at night. The motion and sound detection are spot on, alerting me to any activity right away. I also love the chime—it makes sure I never miss a visitor. Plus, it’s been great for keeping an eye out for Amazon and other packages. The wired setup was easy to install and has been reliable so far. It’s been a fantastic upgrade for my home security!

3 stars because it works, but a step back from our previous camera doorbell quality
We installed this camera for multiple reasons.1st reason being, we have 1 doorbell that is not Roku (rhymes with Ding) and about 4 other indoor/outdoor Roku cameras. For the sake and ease of subscriptions, I wanted to maintain one camera service subscriptions.2nd reason being, we have had some less than welcome individuals being a little more active and frequent on our road that have approached myself alone and my girlfriend with her kids in the yard because of their poor habits making them a touch paranoid. Needless the say, the camera that rhymes with "Ding" seemed to be missing a bunch of activity. I know this because I'd be home and notice someone walking down the road and go "man, i didn't receive a "Ding" notification". I knew the Roku cameras were much more sensitive from our other camera, so we decided to try it.After about a week or so, we opted to stick with the "Ding" camera based on a few reasons.First reason being, the Roku camera image quality was much less better than the "Ding", it was incredibly grainy. The frame size was much smaller as well. With the "Ding" camera, we could pick up the entire face of the house, entire front yard, and half the driveway but with the Roku, we only were able to see about a third of the front yard, the last 3 feet drive way, and about 3-4' to the left and right of the camera on the face of the house.Second reason, the sound quality was horrendous. We spend time on the front porch of our house where the Roku was mounted, and when reviewing videos, you could not make out the conversation audio when we would be less than 4 feet away from the camera itself. With the "Ding" camera, I can make out what the less than welcome individuals are fighting about 5 houses down in their front yard.Third reason, the Roku camera mounting and retention was not nearly as secure. The bracket that the Roku camera mounts to is screwed to the house and then the camera snaps onto the bracket with a plastic detent. Where as the previous camera's bracket we own (rhymes with Ding) is screwed to the house as well, but the camera is secured to the bracket with two security screws. I believe if burglars want it, they will take it regardless, but the quality of the previous camera brand (not roku) with positive retention via safety screws it optimal in my opinion. Finally, our "Ding" camera has a battery, but is hardwired and has internal storage. Where as the Roku camera did not have a back-up battery in the event of power loss. This ultimately brought us to the conclusion that we'd prefer to have better quality video, better sound quality, and give up some video activity in the road as long as the videos we did catch closer to he house could actually be recognizable and audible. Roku doorbell was returned and the "Ding" was remounted.

Nice addition to my ROKU streaming devices
As I have ROKU streaming devices at home already I decided to go with the ROKU Smart Home Doorbell (over other competing brands) due to my familiarity with ROKU.Installation was simple, in fact I had my 15 year old son do the installation (under my guidance) just for the experience. Connection to the internet was a breeze.I am signed up for a yearly plan as I have also added several other devices to complete my overall security package. You do not have to sign up for a plan to be able to use the device, but without a plan the functionality is limited (same as any of the competing brands).
