This innovative device works in a single-gang opening to allow placement of usb charging capability in locations typically reserved for switches, such as near countertops, desktops, or vanity areas. Installed in place of a traditional switch, the usb switch combination charger device allows users to control lights or receptacles while also providing a convenient place to power electronics via usb. The 15A switch is capable of single-pole or three-way wiring to accommodate control from two points; the switch is isolated from the usb for independent use. Providing 2.1 amps of charging power, the device can safely charge smartphones, tablets, laptops, Mp3 players, digital cameras, and other electronic devices.

Does require a neutral
Our son is just over 1.5 years old, and he decided to fall out of his crib. So his crib got converted into a big boy bed and we had to convert his room into something you may find in a psych ward (remove and raise all things that he could hurt himself with). Well that didnt leave much to keep a night light and a sound machine plugged in. So this switch/USB combo provided the solution, because both items run off USB cords. Luckily I had put this light switch in for a light in the walk in closet in his room, so I knew there was a neutral present. Yes the neutral is required to power the USB portion of the combo switch. Quick install, if you know what you’re looking at. Installed today 2-10-22, and is working well. Will update with any premature failures.

Perfect for bathroom.
I upgrade my bathroom from a two switch fan and light 60"s to a three-light and fan with this USB and switch combo next to the toilet. Takes care of looking for the charger to spend time in the water closet.

Goal: Power Tablet while keeping light switch
It works great, we keep our wyze cameras on our tablet at all times by the front door. It's cool to immediately see who's around the house or at the door. This switch/usb power outlet works great. I did have to figure out the wiring but that was fine. I drew an outline of what i did(BLACK-bottom left is power from circuit breaker, top right is power to light). Also I decided to flip it and put the usb on top after for ease of use/plug in; [wiring stays the same just rotated switch once wired]. I ALWAYS MAKE SURE POWER IS OFF BEFORE DOING ELECTRICAL WORK. Thanks, in the next few weeks i'll be buying more for other rooms!!! :) -Randy

Having a neutral for the USB is the most important
When going to wire the switch I found that I only had a 2 wire Romex cable in the wall (black: hot from the outlet, white: return hot for the outlet & copper: ground) which left me without a neutral. Ran a new 3 wire Romex cable through the wall between the outlet and switch (red: neutral) in order to have the neutral for the USB. Also made a little bridge for the hot from the gold screw on the USB to gold screw on the switch. Later on, marked the bridge and return hot white cable with black tape to signify that those are hot (after photos were taken). The switch is right by my desk and love having it to charge my phone/GoPro/headphones/etc. whenever it's needed.

Installation Instructions
Few quick bullet points... It is a 3 way switch. You don't have to use it as a 3 way switch (I don't) and it works fine as a single pole switch. It's bulky compared to a single pole on off switch , so if you don't have a-lot of room in the box to begin with this may not fit. The USB portion of the switch requires a neutral (white) wire. I've posted the installation instructions as one of my pictures.

Great Product. HERE's INSTALL Instructions.
Great product. Used it for a homemade lamp/shelf produce. For my fellow non-electricians, here's how you INSTALL it:BLACK (HOT) from wall: connect to "bronze(dark) post (double one at USB level - either of the 2 are fine as their connected.Run a JUMPER from the spare bronze(dark) post to the brass post directly above it (at switch level)BLACK (HOT) from lamp: connect to brass (at switch level) on opposite side.WHITE (Both from wall and from lamp) Connect BOTH white cords to silver post on opposite side at USB level.

Lousy instructions
So far works great but what a MF’er to set up. Lousy instructions and the buyer review tips sucked. Had a friend who wires electronics help me.
