The are sturdy secateurs.The body is metal but hollow so they are reasonably lightweight. The grip below the thumb is rubberised so they are comfortable to use. I do find bits snap off secateurs. I like the fact that everything on this pair is metal except the catch.The catch which holds them shut is plastic. I would have preferred this to have been metal but it looks fairly reliable and not likely to snap any time soon.They are spring-loaded. The ratchet inside is also metal. They have a large, sharp stainless steel blade which makes good contact with the base. All the fixings are metal.One thing I do like is that it has a hook at the end so you can put string through to hang it up.One thing I will mention is that they are quite wide so may not suit anybody with a tiny hand – my wife. Suitable for the left-handed or the right-handed. Just pruned a confer these these with no problems.
