Hanging bat woodcarving, carved from 3 parts so that wings can be taken apart for storage / transport. It has quite a cute bat-face, but with some dangerous looking teeth. Size: wingspan 23.5" ( 60 cm), high ear to tail 12" (31 cm), depth 3.5" (9 cm). It is not very heavy, so it would be easy to hang it on a hook screwed into the ceiling. Would look great in conservatory, or during the summer in the garden. It was carved in Tegallalang in the mountains of Bali, Indonesia. Fair Trade: We buy directly from the craftsman -woodcarver- who makes the carvings, and that way we can ensure you that he gets a fair price for his work. By comissioning more work from him we can a help a skilled person stay in the rural area of Bali where there is little outside employment- alternative for him is to leave the mountains for the coastal region & get some low paid work in one of the big international hotels who pay extremelly low wages to the locals.
