ONIX Graphite Z5 Graphite Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle with Cushion Comfort Grip

I will be purchasing this paddle next week. However, I spoke with Onix about some of the reviews on Amazon. First, the displayed grip is an old picture from when Onix purchased these from a wholesaler. Onix now manufactures these and the grip says Onix instead. Second, all of these paddles are made in Mexico. That said, reviews here and other paddleball sites rate this paddle as an excellent choice.UPDATE: I purchased the Onix Z5 and it is everything I hoped it would be. It handles well, is a good weight for me, and the grip is solid.

The paddle came with a minute dent and a slight flaw in the paint neither of which effected playability. Since it came with its manufacturer wrapping, I suspect the flaws were a result of the manufacturing process. For me however, it indicated that quality control could be an issue. It does not come with a cover. I also purchased a blue UpStreet paddle which to me is just as good, had no flaws upon delivery. came with a cover and cost less than half as much.

I've only been playing a few months. I looked around our club and saw a lot of people had this paddle. It's worked out great for me. Good control, easy to spin the ball, light and quick with good response on volleys. I like the size and shape. It was a bit more than I wanted to spend, but it seems like a fair price for this quality of paddle.

Very nice paddle. Has a large sweet spot and allows for nice touch around the kitchen. Have only used it for an hour of practicing close mostly soft shots. Subtracted one star because the surface is showing slight wear and losing small amounts of paint after 3 days of practicing dinks over a total time of about one hour. I like the performance of the paddle itself, but I have a feeling the finish will not hold up well. Right now, it is just extremely small specs of paint coming off, but after just an hour of dinks, there shouldn't be any. Bought another one of these in orange a week ago and it is doing the same thing.

Purchased a blue Onix Z5 graphite paddle for indoor/outdoor play. I had a Storm Graphite before but enjoy playing with my Z5 more. What I like about this medium weight paddle is it's wide body (8 1/8") which offers a bigger "sweet spot" area, the lightweight and well-balanced feel in your hand with a semi rough Nomex honeycomb surface for better ball control, a nice 4 1/4" medium grip size with 5" handle (large hands for a gal) and a perforated cushioned grip (for better grip). I would recommend this paddle to anyone.

Don't know why Onix chooses to cheap it out on the grip, but just go ahead and spend another $5 or $6 for Gamma grip tape because the grip looked and felt like"spray-on" paint.Other than that, the Z5 Graphite is a WONDERFUL pickleball paddle. Light weight, maneuverable, wide body, huge sweet spot, great touch. I've been playing 2½ years with a 9+ ounce Wilson axe, slick and hard. The Z5 Graphite is like a surgeon's scalpel for me. My net game has gone up 5 notches, volleying up 3, baseline up 1, and spin control up 3. I'm very happy!BTW, 4 of 13 paddles today were Z5 Graphites. The other three have been very happy with theirs for 5 years each. Highly recommended.

I love this paddle! It has a nice balanced weight, great handle to always provide a perfect grip even when my hands are sweaty, and has a rewarding sound it gives when you hit the sweet spot. I have tried quite a few different paddles, but this is my go to paddle now and will be for a long time to come!

Delivered very fast, a little pricey but you get what you pay for in this case the racquet is light weight and the honey comb construction worked well on my last racquet so expecting the same performance on this one. I play Pickleball 12 months of the year and durability is an issue so that remains to be seen, the racquet I had previously of the same design/ construction lasted me a little more than a year before it started showing signs of going dead I will have to wait and see on that issue. But that being said this is in my mind the best racquet for intermediate to advanced players. I’m not sure if there’s a warranty with this but at least a one year would be nice.

I studied Pickle Ball pallets and read many reviews on different models/brands. I wanted to spend less but decided to spend a few more $ based on the reviews I read. Until buying the Z5 I was borrowing paddles from other players and being new to the sport I really couldn’t tell a good paddle from one that is not as good. I’ve been using the Z5 for a month now and have also received some valuable training so my game has improved significantly. The more I use the Z5 the more I like it and I’m finding that my confidence is growing every game with improved accuracy, control and power. I believe the Z5 is a big part of my game improvement.

Good value compared to racquet sites . Excellent paddle for the novice to intermediate player. I added an oversize wrap to the grip. Now it feels exactly like my tennis racquet (albeit shorter)

Great paddle for power play and a soft touch as well, has great control excellent for an overhead smash, I would higly reccomend this paddle for a player.

this is the only one I have thus far and it's pretty good and lightweight.

First paddle I have bought for pickleball. It is a medium weight like described. I am a squash player so I may eventually get a lighter racquet once I get better with this one.
