Worth Every Dollar — Safer, Brighter, and Truly Peace of Mind at Night
I’ve been using the Osram Night Breaker series for over four years on all my vehicles, and I’ve always been impressed with the results. This time, I finally had the chance to replace the xenon bulbs on my Subaru Outback, and again, the difference is huge. I did a proper comparison test — “before” and “after” — using the exact same camera settings, and the results speak for themselves. The light output is dramatically brighter, clearer, and more evenly distributed. 📸 I’ve attached photos from inside the car and from the street to show the real-world improvement. 🧩 I also verified the bulbs’ authenticity through Osram’s official website. The code on the box matched perfectly with both individual bulb codes — 100% genuine. I really appreciate how easy Osram makes this verification process. 🔍 In the close-up photo, you can see a small white residue inside the bulb’s capsule (near the center). That’s not dust or a defect — it’s metal halide salts, a normal component of genuine xenon bulbs. They vaporize when heated to produce the correct light spectrum. If you notice something similar, don’t worry — it’s completely normal for xenon and actually confirms the bulb’s authenticity. 💡 The color temperature is a pleasant neutral white (around 4300–4500K) — bright and natural, without the blue tint some cheaper bulbs have. After several years of experience with this series, I can confidently say that Osram Night Breaker delivers outstanding quality, proven reliability, and real performance improvements. Replacing the xenon bulbs in my new car with these felt like an essential upgrade — and it absolutely paid off. 🔥

This is one of the most impactful lighting improvements I’ve made
I installed the OSRAM Xenarc Night Breaker 220 D2S bulbs on my vehicle, and the improvement was immediately noticeable. The 220% brightness gain is not an exaggeration—these bulbs produce a cleaner, whiter beam with significantly better road coverage compared to the OEM xenon bulbs I previously used. Night driving feels safer, especially on rural or unlit roads where visibility is critical. What I appreciate most is the excellent beam uniformity, which reduces glare and increases peripheral visibility. The bulbs also ignite quickly and maintain consistent brightness. Pros Substantial brightness upgrade (true 220% improvement) Crisp white color temperature without appearing blue Strong beam uniformity and long-distance throw OSRAM-grade reliability Cons Slightly higher price compared to generic D2S bulbs Installation requires careful handling due to xenon bulb sensitivity Verdict For anyone seeking a high-performance yet reliable xenon upgrade, the Night Breaker 220 is absolutely worth the investment. This is one of the most impactful lighting improvements I’ve made.

Worth the Premium
The Night Breaker 220 bulbs provide an objective improvement over OEM lighting. Lights were received in sealed factory packaging and passed Osram's product authentication process via the Osram Trust website. Based on all the reviews I could find, these are the best road legal bulbs available.

Simply amazing
Simply amazing. 2014 Lexus LX570. Replaced the OEM bulbs which were getting really dim. These are a solid increase in brightness vs OEM when they were brand new. Not 220% but probably 20-30% increase. They are slightly more blue than stock but it’s not noticeable when driving. They’re also not so bright that you would blind oncoming traffic. Great price too. Autozone wanted $140 for just one bulb. Now driving at night is a pleasure instead of an inconvenience

Brighter, Probably
These lights do seem substantially brighter than the original bulbs, but it's hard to tell for sure since the originals were so old. One note - when replacing the bulbs, I did have to substantially adjust the aim after installation. Note that there's no extra padding in the packaging, but the bulbs seemed unharmed in transit.

This dim nightmare has ended on a bright note!
Two years of problems with seized adjusters and technical issues and finally, new bulbs. Brighter and crisper and and I'm now a happy man! The old DS3's were badly oxidized around the inner glass and cast a horrible image making it nearly impossible to align the bulbs. These are terrific, so much brighter and I can confidently drive at night.

Great for E90 328i
These were a great replacement for my 2008 E90 328i after one of my bulbs burned out. The color is still a blue tint at first, but it warms up slightly to almost a pure white after a minute or so. I wanted something in the middle of yellow and that SUPER blue xenon, and I'm very satisfied with the color of this and how it's performed in a variety of weather conditions.

Not bright AT ALL!
I don't know what all those 5 stars are about. They cost $160 and on top of that I paid $150 to have them installed in my X5. I can barely see the difference from my 15 year old Xenons. I thought maybe it was me. Then I compared it with the 5000 lumen flashlight I bought from Costco for $29. The flashlight was MUCH, MUCH brighter. And WHITER. The light was 4500 K, which is amber.. Not white! Then I bought the SEALIGHT H11/H8/H9 Fog Bulbs, X4I 55,000LM ($90) , and hooked it up to my battery charger to test it out their claim. It was many, many times brighter than the Costco flashlight, validating their 55,000 claim. The OSRAM was not even in the same ballpark! Then I looked at the spec of the OSRAM -- 3200 lumens. No wonder! But what the heck --- $160 for a bulb that's questionably better than a 15 year old Xenons?!! Unfortunately the Swalights are not compatible with my X5, so I am looking for something that actually is bright, but compatible. Anyway $310 down the drain.

I recently installed the OSRAM XENARC NIGHT BREAKER 220 (D4S) bulbs in my Lexus IS300h and the difference is truly remarkable. These bulbs are easily one of the best upgrades I’ve made to my car. The brightness is a massive boost. The 220% claim is spot on; the light output is powerful, clear and reaches much further down the road. This makes night driving safer and more comfortable, especially on unlit roads. The bulbs also produce a crisp, clean light. The colour temperature gives a modern, premium look that complements the IS300h perfectly. Road signs and lane markings are clear and easy to read, eliminating the need for squinting or guessing. Installation was a breeze. The bulbs were easy to swap and once installed they powered up without any flicker warning lights or compatibility issues. OSRAM’s reputation for quality shines through. The bulbs feel sturdy and the beam pattern is precise with zero glare to oncoming traffic when aligned correctly. Overall, if you drive a car and want a dramatic improvement in night visibility without resorting to aftermarket LED bulbs, the OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER 220 D4S bulbs are definitely worth it. They’re a true premium upgrade!
