SUNCOAT saves the day for me, EVERY day!
I have been using this product and the SUNCOAT mousse for a couple of years now. I love both products! This is a review of how I use BOTH products together, to give a finished "just left the hairdressers" look. I will post this same review on the mousse page too. These two products are perfect for me. I love the ingredients. I have very, very sensitive skin. I react to many ingredients in skin and hair care products (retinyl palmitate makes my hair split the day after I get my hair cut, if the salon products contain it, and SLS brings me out in itchy rashes, along with many other products) So now I take my SUNCOAT styling products to the salon with me. Even my hairdresser said he was super impressed by the hold and quality of the SUNCOAT products, and has now recommended them to other clients with sensitivities. So don't be shy about taking your own products with you to the salon, if you prefer to steer clear of the often horrible ingredients in salon products. Anyhow, I digress..... I have a couple of challenging and unfortunate hair issues. Worst is that I have total hairloss at the temples due to a receding hairline. Its genetic - who knew women could get a receding hairline too? An unfortunate fact that I found out and a huge issue for me combined with my multiple sensitivities to hair and skin care products. In addition, I go through cyclic hairloss. Not normal hairloss, but I can easily lose 1/4 to 1/3 of my volume over 6 months or so, and this cycles around every 2-3 years. I have been quite a few dematologists who confirmed the amount I lose and the fact that they didn't know why and there was nothing to be done. Combined with my receeding harline it is hard to manage and with my skin sensitivities it is a huge challenge to find products that work for me. I have shortish layered hair to help give me volume and tousled layers to hide my high hairline and thinning hair. Here is my routine. I wash my hair and towel dry it well, I use the SUNCOAT mousse at the roots to give it volume and blowdry it (up and against/opposite direction to my messy side part to give me volume) and then to finish I blowdry down to tidy up the stray bits and coverage where I need it. The mousse gives a lot of extra volume, although I don't use too much because it can make it a bit dry and dull and sticky feeling. A little goes a long way but it does make a huge difference to the volume and looks great if I don't overload my hair with it. On my shortish hair I use a dollop of SUNCOAT mousse about 1"x1'x1" After I finish drying my hair, I spray my hair with the SUNCOAT sugar based spray and tousle my hair with my fingers to give the style I want. The spray gives it a bit of texture, and although it does give a little bit of a soft crunch, that easily combs out leaving no residue. The slight stiffness that the spray provides helps it stay where I want it and stops any flyaway strays. It also gives a bit of shine. If I apply it heavily it gives a stiff, structured, harder look. But I generally just want some texture and a bit of hold. I only wash my hair once every three days because it is quite dry. The following two days, I just spray comb it, apply a light spray all over and again tousle into the shape I want and it looks like I spent 20 mins doing it! I keep a very close eye on my SUNCOAT bottles of mousse and spray, because I want to make sure I never run out of either product!

No scent!!
I recommend this hairspray for anyone that gets a headache from your hairspray!! I tried about 8 hairsprays and all gave me a headache. Some labels stated unscented, which was false. They still had a smell. This hairspray has absolutely NO scent. Also, it makes my hair SUPER shiny. It holds very well. I would compare to Kendra Platinum # 28. There is a trick to applying it. It doesn't dry as fast as the hairsprays that create a headache. After I spray it on my hair, I use my blow dryer to dry it. Have your dryer on low and hold it far away from your head. This prevents the blow dryer from blowing you hair. Sometimes, I repeat this process if I want my hair to absolutely not move. Also, I use it as a straightener for my wavy hair. Spray, blow dry, and use my flat iron. I have shoulder length hair. The next day, spritz with water, blow dry, and flat iron. No build up or white flaking. I can't recommend this enough for anyone with allergies. I am sooo glad I found this product!!

This is a truly great product that works for my chemical sensitivity issues
It is so hard to find a natural hair spray. This is a truly great product that works for my chemical sensitivity issues. It is slightly sticky, but no more so than many conventional products I have used. Great product! I am updating my review to a 4 because although I love the spray, the container is awful!!! The last two bottles I have gotten have squirted out jets of sticky spray that literally show up as dark lines on my (blond) hair. Why can't they have a non-aerosol bottle that actually delivers a spray rather than a stream? I have lots of natural products from cleaners to fragrances that have an actual mist/spray delivery, as opposed to a jet stream. Looking for them to improve in this area and then I will go back to a 5 star review.

Non-poisonous Hairspray!
I've been looking a long time for non-toxic hairspray, and this appears to be it. Don't expect it to be exactly like your average hairspray. I got good results from spraying sparingly and not too close to my head. I have shoulder-length hair and I usually spray 4 to 5 times from about 12 to 15 inches. The mist coming from the sprayer was very fine, which is good. I've made my own sugar spray before, and while it holds it does change the appearance of the hair. With this product, I definitely got a significantly better look than I did with DIY homemade spray. My hair still looked reasonably shiny after applying this product. It didn't seem to weigh down my hair to any noticeable degree (though it possibly could if you spray too much on), and it surprised me how well it held with only 4 sprays. As a chemically-sensitive person, I'm delighted to finally find a hairspray that I don't have to be afraid of! Manufacturer, thank you for making this product!

Spray pump doesn't work
I love this product in terms of being fragrance free and having a great hold. I am only rating it a 2 because after a few uses the pump stops working. I ordered another bottle because I like the product so much, but it happened again. I'd like to talk with someone at the company to see what to do because I'd like to keep using this product.

No fragrance, which is a major plus. Sticky ...
No fragrance, which is a major plus. Sticky enough to hold. Find it a bit dulling to my hair. Dampen with water in spray bottle, to re-constitute (for those that don't want to wash hair on a daily basis). I've only use this occasionally and sparingly. Will last a long time.

Excellent quality, fragrance-free, and holds well. Unfortunately, it’s not always available directly from the manufacturer (Suncoat) on Amazon, and I’ve encountered fakes from other sellers. It would be great if this product was consistently sold by Suncoat or Amazon itself.

I use this hair spray every day and have been using it for many years. It's scent free and I can't use scented products.

Took a long time to get here but that's okay. I tried a little bit on a difficult curl on my head and then decided to give the contents a sniff. O M G !!!!! It smells like ammonia! Can any buyers tell me if it Is it supposed to?? I asked the seller who unfortunately admitted being unable to answer questions about the products they sell! That's a problem. I also contacted the manufacturer 2 months ago and haven't heard anything back. The hold was admittedly good, and the smell seemed to dissipate. However, I would be concerned about being caught in the rain, will that reactivate the scent! I was also afraid of what would happen to my hair. Like I say, a used it on a tiny spot and it seems to have been okay. With this crazy c-19 experience that we are in, I lost track of time so I can't return it now. $25 into the garbage bin!!! I am much too afraid to use it.

So glad to find a natural hairspray that sprays well and holds my style with at least a medium hold. My favourite natural hairspray so far.

It’s good and natural but really overpriced, just mix water and sugar add an essential oil and you have the same thing.
