Considerable Relief
I have had a 'stiff neck' for at least 10 years. Initially wrote it off as the fault of my now ex-wife, but MRI 4-5 years ago verified that I have cervical arthritis and narrowing disk spaces (lost 1.5" of height). Slowly and continually got worse to the point that in a panic I've considered seeing a neural surgeon for a VERY risky surgical procedure. Someday still may have to do that - but not now. There are (too) many choices here competing with this product for a civilian to know which is best. I'm sure that some of them are better than this one that I bought. I bought this DDS product because of reviews that referred to how helpful the company was in refunds and repairs. They were right on the spot. Fellow at customer service went above and beyond helping me with a FedEx delivery problem.I am also considering buying an alternative to try. This one puts most of the pressure under the chin so its is a little uncomfortable if like me you have mild, or worse acute, jaw issues. The product I am going to try was recommended by a friend that primarily lifts from the back of the scull - but I haven't tried it yet and it is almost twice the price.Having noted all that, this product has changed my life. My condition after using it once the first time was just this side of miraculous. I went from panic and anxiety fearing have to go thru life in agony to on and off much milder to no pain. Whoosh! I don't know it it will last but it is at least for now its a life saver. Of course you should consider consulting a doctor but if you have a similar problem this kind of product should IMO be part of the discussion. Finally, two point:- Another reason I chose this device is that is allows the user a choice to move around while wearing it. I wouldn't try to drive with it but you can do almost anything else around the house that doesn't require moving your head up and down too much - and I only have it on for 10 to 40 minutes while reading for work or pleasure or watching TV. The second device I'm considering can only be used prone lying on your back.- A number of years ago I bought an over the door hanging device. Various sources have pointed out that the pressure it applied was not well controlled which is what I found so after trying it a couple of times never used again. Good luck to Y'all!

Doesn't work for me
I wear a 15.5 inch neck shirt, so as per the fitting chart ordered a large. It is hard to get under the sides of my jaw and ends up being an immobilization collar. Also it does not provide traction to the base of my skull, even when I manage to finagle it under my jaw, it only lifts my chin. I would like to order a small, but this is not cheap. On the plus side, it is well made. The detachable pump is great. I am not doing a 1 or 2 star, because it is quality and maybe its just that my head and it are just not a good match.

Extremely well made, but not suitable for those with TMJ, unfortunately!
This cervical traction device is well made, and I believe it would be beneficial for most people with degenerative disc disease. I purchased this on the advice of my ortho doc to help with radiculopathy pain and tingling (in arms and hands) and with trigeminal neuralgia (often referred to as the “suicide headache”), symptoms stemming from degenerative disc disease (spinal stenosis, spondylosis, osteophytes placing pressure on my peripheral nerves). Unfortunately, because I also suffered from TMJ many years ago, this device was not for me, and I had to send it back. There is a warning about TMJ in the user guide, and people with TMJ history should take this seriously!Using the device conservatively for approximately one week exacerbated my old TMJ, and I ended up with a raging headache and jaw pain (on top of the excruciating trigeminal neuralgia head pain I already had). Overall, I think this is a well made device that would be comfortable to use, as long as you don’t also have jaw problems like me!Also, the customer service is outstanding! My order arrived quickly, but the pump device I received was faulty. Understanding that I purchased the device to try and alleviate pain, the manufacturer sent a replacement pump via overnight delivery! The new pump worked perfectly, and to be honest, I was heartbroken that I needed to send the whole thing back. I really do feel like this product is a great value, especially when one consider the out of pocket cost and inconvenience involved with going to a PT office to use a traction device. And the convenience of not being “stuck” in a doorway, or on the floor is nice- you can use this while lying down or while sitting/standing/walking, as long as you don’t try to turn your head. So, unless you have (or have had) TMJ, I would definitely give this a try!

Hubby too skeptical, but I'm glad I ordered it!!!
My hubby was skeptical because he was worried using it might cause harm to his existing condition. He's got a point so I gave up and was about to return it unused. Suffering from unbearable pain daily, I suggested he try this product at least once. He has a lot of cervical issues and major nerve pain all over his body. Docs don't suggest surgery and physical therapy visits once or twice a week is not enough to relieve and lessen his chronic pain on a daily basis. This product helped. We're glad we kept it. Thank you for an awesome product!!!

saved me from surgery
For those complaining about not having adjustments - measure your neck before ordering. Geesh. There are adjustments for neck width, but read the sizing before you pay this much. This device saved me from surgery. The doctor said I need neck surgery. I said I wanted to try something else and bought this. Worth twice as much for the results I received. I use it periodically when I forget my limitations and mess up my neck or I have been craning over the computer too long (constantly)
