Great item for holding my chalk when playing snooker

Chalk will break in half using this - stay away

Great build quality, however there are issues. Screw to hold the chalk in constantly come loose and as a result will need constant tightening. The chalk i use is £17 a go and the first outing using the holder it broke the chalk. Screws kept coming loose and chalk was dropping on the floor so had to tighten to hold the chalk in as that's what it's for. Subsequently chalk now is cracked and costs as much as the holder itself, good quality made product poorly designed. Would have never bought the item if I would have known as not fit for purpose without damaging your chalk. Either you leave the bolts loose so the chalk falls on the floor which defeats the point of the item in the first place or you keep the bolts tightened every two min to hold the chalk in and risk it cracking. Either way your better with it in your pocket. Looks cool, Thats it

arrived promptly; grub screws split the chalk circle when tightened, so be careful how tight you make it; Rather annoying when the chalk is quite expensive in the first place. Ideally needs an inner springy metal protector for each screw; may need to make this myself if I can get a thin enough material. Neat storage of the small alan key. Magnet and holder work well.

Feels solid and well made. Comes with small screws and driver to secure taom chalk.

My previous chalkholders were always coming off and falling apart, leaving me searching under the table for a small round magnet and a black rubber cup. This is 100% better. It doesn't accidentally let go of the chalk,and the magnet is much more positive. Highly recommended.

I bought this to replace my 3D printed home made holder that I designed. Lovely colour, beautifully machined, poor execution. The grub screws have to penetrate into the sides of the chalk in order to hold it securely but they then start to back out very quickly an require retightening. Easily solved with a drop of Threadlock. However, if you overtighten by even a very small amount, the chalk will split in 2 (I have already broken 2 pieces at close to £20 each and have a 3rd one arriving today). Solution for current owners of this holder:- Don't use the screws. Instead, make some shims out of tin foil or paper and wedge it down the side between the chalk and the wall of the holder. Solution for the manufacturer:- Add an internal metal compression ring so when you turn the grub screw, the ring closes around the chalk and drastically decreases the chance of breaking it.

normally I'm not a fan of chalk holders like this as the magnets tend to weaken over time and you wind up losing your chalk and holder. That is until I stumbled across this thing. While this model is made for a specific brand of chalk, the magnet is extremely strong (feels like a rare earth magnet) and actually takes a little bit of effort to slide it off the piece you wear. So, if you're paying in excess of 20 bucks for a piece of chalk, you can rest assured that it will be there when you put it back. The only recommendation I would make would be to the purchaser would be to use a small drop of BLUE loctite on the allen screws, as they can work themselves loose. After doing that, it should serve you well for years.

Magnet is strong but will fall off if hit. I recommend wearing loosing clothing that stays below or tighter clothing that stays above the table. Otherwise you'll be picking your chalk up all tournament long. Double screws are nice, holding chalk inside holder, clips works great as well. Alumwrench does not stay in place and will stick to magnet. Overall ill give it a 4. It technically does the job besides some minor infractions.
