good for garden greenhouse
I got this solar fan for our garden greenhouse. With summer heat waves coming swiftly, the temperature in our greenhouse is increasing exponentially, making it impossible for the plans to survive in such heat. Therefore, I am planning to install this air vent in our greenhouse to reduce the temperature inside the greenhouse during the summer heat waves.Installation is pretty easy and straightforward - the air fan consists of three parts: air fan itself, battery, and the solar panel. The mounting bracket for solar panel, and wall plugs with screws are provided in the package. Wiring is also intuitive, all you have to do is to connect the solar panel to the battery, and then the battery to the fan. Thus, the solar panel charges the battery, which powers the fan. I've noticed that panel is not working during the cloudy days, it needs a clear sun in order to charge the battery. But in my case it does not represent a big problem, because I'm not planning to use it during the cloudy days. The fan is powered from solar panel or from the battery and it's working constantly. Naturally, some sort of remote control would be a great improvement to this air fan, and I think would increase greatly it's usability. But in my case I'm quite happy with what I got, its features fit my specific needs

Good solar extractor fan but minor issues
This solar fan is a decent fan. however at full price i would not buy this. it is made of cheap plastic - but the offers they regularly do - it seems decent.it is perfect for a greenhouse or shed etc. but i suppose you can even use it in bathrooms (if you can wire the solar panel outside) -the panels seem to work well - but it does switch to battery randomly when its cloudy. -the downside is the fan has NO speed controls - its "on" or "off" nothing in-between - i would like a speed control either manually or base on "temperature"its also a very cheap plastic feel - the solar panel seemed rough around edges - careful! i cut some skin off my finger! - it says its double sided but not sure how that would work - the sun comes from the sky!now i just want to find one of these but a floor or desk standing fan to use outdoors or indoors! - never knew could get any fans on solar panel like this.PERFECT for sheds as you dont tend to have electric running there, but even if you do, its FREE ENERGY from the sun £0.00 running costs - so i suppose thats where the true value comes from

Excellent kit for the (offer) price...
Excellent setup for locations where a mains powered fan might not be feasible, or simply too much hassle.I've just fitted a mains extractor of the same size (100mm/4") to an outbuilding with mains power. That required a core drill for the brickwork (and a lot of patience), but the end result was well worth it. Good air circulation in there now, and very noticeable when you go in.This solar/battery version is absolutely perfect for a large wooden shed here, without mains power. It's well made, the plastic used in the fan unit itself feels well up to the job, and not like the brittle stuff commonly used on alternative budget gear. The battery back has some weight to it, and although I haven't (yet) looked inside to check the actual cell info, I've no reason to doubt the specs given in the listing (3000mAh).Same goes with the panel itself, which again looks a good bit of kit, and not like the typical 'water fountain' types which are a bit cheap-and-cheerful.I've yet to install this in the shed, but have let it run for a bit while out in the sun (what little we've had so far). It runs absolutely fine, and the built-in shutters do their job OK when the power is disconnected, closing under their own weight. The price is one of the main considerations of course, but at time of writing there's a generous discount available which really makes it worth considering IMO.On a quality/value-for-money basis... a definite 5-Stars at offer price, 4 at normal price.

Helped with making a shed more bearable
Even in the warmer months our new shed has been very stuffy during day and this has helped making a minor but noticeable improvement to airflow and comfort (although I wouldn’t find it strong enough for use with my house). The fan was a bit tricky to install as someone who is not gifted in the DIY department, but once placed everything works and the solar panel especially provides constant power, although it will be interesting to see how this performs (if at all) in the darker months. In terms of value the RRP is not too bad for a solar powered fan, however with the current promotion I believe it is well worth a recommendation if you have a small area in need of more airflow.

Good design
A great product although some room for improvement, I got this to help out ventilate my shed during the year. It's really easy to set up with female and male connections. The solar panel is quite well made although does have some rough edges that could've been sanded down. The fan speed and flow rate is constant, sadly you cannot control the fan speed and is set. The box which contains the battery tells you the battery capacity. You can either use the battery or the solar panel with the click of a button. Great price for what you get.

Works well, easy to get up and running
You receive a good packed which has all you needYou have the Solar panel, a converter and a power bank batterySolar panel is on cable which means it can be positioned away form the fan etc, ideal for getting optimum sun positioningThe fan is not massive 4 inch in size. You connect the control box to the panel which will recharge the battery and this will then power the fan, all works fine, however, you can not adjust the speed on the fan, its set at one speed. An ideal fan for campers and camping, plus plenty of other outside buildings etcI like this, I’d have liked the fan to be adjustable, a remote would be good, bit overall a good useful fan, not installed but the plan is to add it to the camper at some stage.
