Fab movie
Watched this at a holiday cabin with no WiFi!! What a treat - loved this movie way back when and just as much now - brilliant acting and old school cinematography - and how much longer the movies were back then, but didn’t get bored for a second - must watch :)

US Paranoia run amok
US Paranoia run amokFirst, heed the warning given at the commencement of the film that the strobe lighting effects that feature heavily in this production could cause problems for those with epileptic tendencies.Reviewers appear pretty divided on this film. One could view the acute paranoia displayed by the principal player (Gibson) as symbolic of a nation. Certainly the USA has a long history of fixations including "reds under the bed" (Chaplin's "A King in New York"), a communist plot to invade the body fluids (Sellers and "Dr Strangelove") to give but two examples. Therefore, I would not write this film off as entirely implausible. You have only to examine the US expenditure on high tech, heavy weaponry to realise just how far down the road to oblivion we have gotten ourselves. And as for espionage . . . ?

A Decent Watch
This is an interesting film, maybe a shade overlong, in my humble opinion. Gibson is always watchable and I think he was quite superb here with his performance of Gerry, a frenetic, persistent and obsessive conspiracy theorist. There are a few outstanding action scenes to go with Mel’s superb performance but not much more. This is a good watch but far from a great one.

WILLIAM WALLACE IN A TAXI
In this movie, Mel Gibson is revealed as a nutcase who is really sane, until we remember that William Wallace is really an Australian living in California, and not someone living in Scotland hundreds of years ago. I guess you have to be insane to get into the character of this taxi driver, just as you have to be insane to get into the Hollywood character of William Wallace. But since the words insanity and genius are often interchangeable, you can take your pick as to which one you prefer. Hey! - its Hollywood, and its only entertainment, and at that, its pretty good stuff!

Highly recommend
I love this movie, I know it's considered an action thriller but I found it to be funny at the same time.I could watch it over and over, it's definitely worth watching.

Good little conspiracy film
Good little conspiracy film. It possibly tries to be too clever but thats no bad thing given that the alternative option of being dumbed down is way too prevelent these days.

I love this film
I love this film. I won't go into the plot as it has been done many times, but I will say this is one of the best films Mel Gibson has done. His acting skills make his character believable in the extreme. Along with Julia Roberts (also doing a fine acting job) this twosome really do bring the story to life and with a twist at the end, a film to watch over and over.

Mismatch
Individually, these are two popular and watchable actors. Hiowever for me, this was an experiment which did not work. Very little seemed to gel and the ending left the viewer wondering whether, if Mel Gibson's character had received such harsh and abusive treatment as displayed in the film, he would have been able to recognise anyone...even Julia Roberts. Sorry, no.
