Summer, ice cream, friendship.. goals!
I truly enjoyed this novel, and I want to mention first of all how perfect it is for girls/woman of any age to read in today’s world..Not only is it a great example of feminism and motivation to achieve some pretty important goals, but it also shows the power of friendship.. and I loved getting to know the characters and as the story progressed rooting for each one in their own way!Amelia is the main character, and we meet her at the start of summer and her journey as head girl at the Meade Creamery, but something unexpected happens.. and it changes the course of summer as she knows it..Cate, her best friend, and partner in crime, is also at the forefront of it all and also my favorite character, and one I related to most. I loved her friendship with Amelia, and the way they always held each other accountable, and gave each other all the support!Although the romance in the novel wasn’t the main topic or focus, I enjoyed getting to know Grady, because at the end of the day, his character also developed, and he played a big part in the story..Stay Sweet is a perfect summer read, and I highly recommend anyone looking for an inspiring summer novel, filled with friendship, feminism, and of course, lots and lots of ice cream!!

Cute and sweet
Love this book! It was such a fun summer read that I devoured like a melting ice cream cone.Fun characters with a great story. I loved the Molly Meade parts of the book. Amelia was a little obsessed about the ice cream stand, but it was kind of cool how passionate she was about keeping the tradition alive. The only problem I had was that it made me homesick for my favorite bubblegum ice cream from the creamery in Narragansett, Rhode Island.

Perfect summer read
“And, as it is with most disappointments, the promise of ice cream makes things a little bit better.”Stay Sweet is the story of Amelia, who is starting her fourth year of working at Meade Creamery, a popular ice cream stand in her town created during World War II. This was the perfect summer read - it take place in the summer, and the descriptions of the summer nights, of the taste of ice cream and crowds, resonated with me. I’ve worked in both frozen yogurt and gelato shops, so personally this story made me nostalgic and reminiscent of my past during a time where bigger plans were on the horizon. It’s the same for Amelia, who is going to go to college after the final summer at the shop, until she finds the owner dead (!!!) inside of it. As she begins the quest to help keep the shop running, she discovers what’s truly important to her, mirroring Molly Meade’s own discovery decades earlier. Going into this book, I thought it was going to be a romance, but it wasn’t at all. It’s a story about following your heart. I know that sounds cliche and cheesy, but in the face of societal and familial pressures to do something that’s “respectable,” it’s a nice message to hear.

Such a fun summer read!
Stay Sweet focuses on Amelia, a teenage girl who was been eagerly awaiting her chance to become Head Girl at her summer job location, Meade Creamery. To Amelia, this role comes with great honor, as she's grown up with Meade Creamery and loves every minute of it. From the ice cream itself to the long standing traditions she's created with the other scoopers, each summer fills her with great excitement and joy to be a part of it. This year, she's finally given her chance to show off her leadership skills when she's bestowed the ultimate dream: Head Girl. However, soon things don't go exactly to plan when Grady Meade, the grand-nephew of the stand's first founder, arrives to unexpectedly take over the business. Everything Amelia has spent her life knowing is suddenly threatened: the traditions, the atmosphere, and the business itself. Will she be able to protect the things she cares about most? This book was such a fun read! I really liked the atmosphere that the novel set. It gives off strong summery vibes, and is perfect for a trip to the beach! I finished this book in one sitting--it's very light and easy to get through quickly. Some aspects were a little rushed, such as the inevitable romance in the story, but it's to be expected in a YA contemporary and didn't detract from the story itself. I highly recommend this book, but be warned, you'll soon be craving ice cream!
