Way better than a traditional cast!
This was recommended by doctor for broken sesamoid. Way better than a traditional cast! It really helped. There is a little weight to it but it’s not bad. I wear a women’s size 6 shoe. I ordered this in the extra-small size and it fit perfectly. As of 10/23/25, you have to scroll down the page to see the size chart. It is not listed in the main listing photos at the top of the page (in the app). Simple hook-and-loop closures make this easy on, easy off. One thing I don’t like (but would have the same issue with a traditional cast) is how unevenly I walk with it on. So much so it started causing me hip and back pain. Completely by accident, I found something that attaches to the shoe of your good foot to help EVEN you UP. That item was a game changer. Doctors should recommend that item to patients whenever they recommend this boot.

I can work in this!!!
If you've injured your ankle but don't have the luxury of actually being able to do "lite duty" at work or "rest" for 6 weeks, this is the solution! I recently started a new work contract - time off is not an option. Even if it was an option, bills don't take "time-off." A couple of weeks in, I went to stand up and heard and felt a "pop" in my ankle. Immediate pain and inability to bear weight on it. After a week of RICE (rest, ice, compression, and elevation) and white knuckling it through work, it started to feel back to normal. Well...last night at work, I went to stand-up from my computer, and I heard and felt the "pop" again. Panic mode initiated. I found out I have an avulsion fracture. Generally, these heal on their own. Surgery isn't required because of the location and size of the bone fragment; however, 6-8 weeks of rest and minimal weight bearing is recommended. Again - Not. An Option. This boot makes it possible and costs a fraction of what I would have paid if I'd purchased it through the doctor's office. Yeah, it's bulky, but it is STURDY! It puts my lace-up brace to shame! It compresses and stabilizes my ankle. It doesn't feel like my bones are rolling around or cracking, no ligaments pulling - it's stable. This, my friends, provides a nice space for my ankle to heal without putting me out of work. There's traction on the bottom like a regular shoe. The soul of the boot feels like a brand-new pair of shoes. Basically, you don't feel the floor, haha. Also, it's not heavy. I'm a size 9. I'm right on the line between a small and medium. I chose to go with the small and I'm glad I did. I think the medium would have been too bulky and gotten in my way. The boot came with 4 extra pads which seem useful in the even the boot is too big for you or if it rubs and irritates your foot/leg. I'm 5'5 and muscular - my calves are thick - and the Velcro is perfect for adjusting the boot to insure a good fit. Too lose? Tighten. Too tight? Losen. I love the adjustability. I haven't worn it at work yet and am interested to see how well it performs and stands up during a 12-hour shift in a hospital. I'm almost certain it's going to irritate me at some point, but it's worth it to be able to go to work, keep my job, and make money. Speaking of money, $42 isn't a bad price tag for the boot. I also appreciated that it could be delivered in the time frame I needed, which was ASAP. Thanks for reading, and happy healing!

Hallelujah! A Solution for Holding an Ice Pack on My Foot After Exercise / Physical Therapy!
I am currently undergoing physical therapy for severe Plantar fasciitis and a bone spur that pokes up into my Achilles tendon. The therapy is designed to stretch and strengthen the surrounding muscles and tendons. So far, it has been pretty effective, with the next step, if the therapy isn't enough, being some serious surgery to remove the bone spur, with downtime in a cast for 16 weeks. The therapy consists of exercises that do cause a bit of pain and discomfort on their own, which requires icing down the ankle and heel area afterwards, just as playing tennis or hiking through the woods, or even going on a long walk requires. The problem with the icing, though, is that the long, narrow ice pack designed to wrap around the foot is quite difficult for me to secure correctly. My Physical Therapist said to put it in a pillowcase and tie it around my foot. I just can't get that to work. I've also tried securing it with an Ace bandage, but that is hard as well, since I am pretty inflexible and tall (this is part of the underlying cause of the Plantar fasciitis and bone spur). After seeing someone in a walking boot, I decided to try ordering one so that I could put the ice pack in the boot, then my foot in the pillow case, then tighten the boot around the ice pack. It works great! I ordered the XL boot even though my foot is a large size. Now I can comfortably wear the ice pack, and even walk around if I feel like it. Now I'm icing more frequently, and this makes doing my Physical Therapy exercises far more comfortable. Pros: • Inexpensive and built for wear outside and inside • Velcro straps and padding hold the ice pack securely • Lightweight Cons: • None

Walking boot
Would have loved to have an extra liners, to take up space. This boot is better than the one the hospital gave me that was clear up to my knee. I just have a little extra room than I expected.

Splurge for the air pump liner instead
I followed sizing guide but the boot was still too big and my foot slid around inside. (Size7 women’s shoe/size small boot). I returned and reordered the same size/brand but with the adjustable air pump liner. This was a perfect fit and has helped my foot pain.

This Boot saved my Achilles !!!
Ok, I ordered this product because my Achilles was killing me after some strenuous exercising I should not have been doing. Anyway, I was in PAIN PAIN PAIN. I called my Dr and the receptionist said they were all booked up and I already had an appointment scheduled for the following month. So, I asked to be put on the waiting list and called if a opening came. Well, no call. I was taking Ibuprofen for the pain and swelling for a few days, Then it got worse when I walked on it, so I knew I had to do something. I read about Achilles injuries and from what I was reading I could tell it wasn't torn because I didn't hear a POP, and I could still move my ankle/foot up and down. So I read that immobilization, moderate stretching and pain meds were the only option. So I ordered this boot from Amazon. The previous purchasers answered all my questions which helped. I wanted to wear it over my shoe, so I could drive when I took it off. But that didn't work, so I had send it back and get a smaller one. The return was fast, and I had a new one in a few days. My wife was on the floor laughing at me when she saw the boot arrive! "Oh Lawdy...the man done ordered a boot from Amazon" were her exact words as she fell over in laughter. Well, I didn't care....Laugh on my love! Now, from the first time I put it on I could tell the difference. It took 90% of the pressure off my Achilles. It felt GREAT, No Pain! Now, when I used it for a long time (all day, lot of walking), my Achilles would get a little sore, but nothing like before. Also note, you need to add a lift insert inside your opposite shoe, or your opposite hip will start hurting from the height difference. They give you extra sponges to go into the boot, but I just put those inside my left shoe to counter the height difference. Boot felt great! Ok, I wore it for about a month, off and on, and my Achilles felt better day by day. So good...that some days I didn't even wear the boot, but it would swell up and be sore by the end of the day if I didn't. So my Dr appointment finally comes, and I go in. I'm in my boot and the Dr is like.....WTF did you do. I explained what happened and how I tried to get in to see her and she's PISSED at her receptionist for not booking me. Then she asks, who gave you the boot? what did they say? I said Amazon, She says, who's Dr Amazon ? LMBAO!!! I say no, the website....Amazon. She almost fell out the chair in laughter! Oh, she had a good gut-busting laugh at my amazon boot. That was until she tells me to take it off and get on the table. My Achilles was still very swollen and twice the size of my other. But not sore at all. She panics, "OMG you probably ruptured this thing. You need to see an Orthopedic today". She starts calling around to find a Ortho Dr that will see me that day. But it's Friday and they are all gone. So she schedule me to see him on Monday. She forgot about all the other things I came for like my cholesterol results. She was in full panic mode. She suspected the tendon was hanging on by a thread and I must stay off it. But by this time, me and my handy-dandy boot was just fine. I'd made it this long with just the boot, I was feeling better, so I was not in a rush to go see / pay for another Dr. Besides, It's my son's birthday weekend and I'm not canceling it for this when I'm in NO PAIN. She tells me to go home stay off of it until Monday. Me and my boot go to the race car track so my son can diver the indoor carts for his birthday. Now, I did sit down, and (as bad as I wanted to) I didn't take off my boot and ride the go-carts with him. Well my Dr calls me on my way to the go cart track and says she want me to go to the emergency room and get a MRI. WTF? Now we all know the price of emergency rooms, even with insurance, and the wait time. However, I could tell she was very concerned and I didn't want her worrying all weekend so after my son's birthday outing, I waited until about 12am and went into the emergency room, in my HANDY DANDY BOOT ! Finally see the ER Dr comes over and I explain everything and she's also laughing at my Amazon Boot. Then she informs me that they don't do MRI's in the ER. Ok, I just wasted 2 hrs. But she does look at my Achilles an tell me that it's probably ruptured but the Orthopedic will be able to better tell. So they didn't charge me anything. YEA! Put on my boot and I hobbled on back home. Well, Monday comes, and I realize my appointment had been changed to 8am instead of the 1pm. My Dr ! So I had to come back on Tuesday. SMH. Finally I see the Orthopedic Dr on Tuesday, Explain everything and why I'm there. He has a good chuckle bout my amazon boot as well. He says my tending is not torn, its tendonitis and very tight. Wearing the boot actually helped keep it from further damage. Then he says the magic words " Mr Terry, you did an EXCELLENT JOB, you did everything I would have done for you". You took pain meds, got it immobilize with a boot and kept wearing it for over a month. That's GREAT! Now, In my mind, I'm doing a touch-down dance on my Dr's and wife's face, because they ridiculed me for ordering this boot. It saved me, time money, and possible surgery had I not ordered it. My whole thinking was....It's 35.00! Can hurt to try it. Not like I can make it worse with the boot. Also, I did order and wear the Ankle Support Brace by Bodyprox as well. But didn't were it very often. Now, I"m not telling you to do this, this is just what I did. I suggest you go to a Dr. and get checked out. I got lucky it's wasn't torn, but this boot was a life saver.

Sizing is way off, poorly constructed, bad instructions (which we shouldn't need, but do) and a waste of money. I hate this boot
I was hopeful and figured the negative reviews were buyers too hurried or too stupid to understand how to order or put on the boot. I was wrong. Everything they're saying is true. I ordered the correct size per their instructions. I should have been right in the middle of the range (size 9 foot and got a medium). It's 2" too long.... The instructions are ridiculously small and make no sense. We shouldn't NEED instructions but they've included random little pads that don't stick to anything and one pad that is sewn into a spot on the liner that makes no sense. The bottom rocks - not even which seems like it should be a plus but it's very awkward (and slippery). The velcro straps wrap around way too far and are hard to maneuver (boot is just too big!). The liner is uncomfortable on your shin when walking and the heel is open which was a surprise to me. Just an all around piece of poorly constructed garbage with no directions on how to make the best of the garbage you've been sent. I bought this to replace my longer boot since I'll be traveling and the longer boot isn't good with stairs. This piece of garbage is so bad I'd rather take the stairs slowly and sideways than wear this poorly designed and manufactured junk. Avoid - don't think you're smarter than the bad reviews. The only thing I can figure out is that the positive reviews were from people who previously had been wearing cardboard and scotch tape to protect their foot. A FEW DAYS LATER ------------------ Given the fact that I CAN'T RETURN THIS BOOT, I thought I'd give it another try. I waited until I was in the best possible mood to pull it out of the box and give it a go. Looking it at wrapped up nicely again to return (which was a mistake to assume even though Amazon said it handles all returns for items fulfilled by Amazon), the minute I pulled it out of the bag I was reminded what a blood pressure raising menace this boot is. As soon as I reached in to grab the inside of the boot, the 5 (five) random pieces of padding flew out of the boot and landed all around me. I believe that these approximately 3"x3" pieces of foam are intended to be padding and the idea is to insert them somewhere in the boot where you feel you need some extra help. That might not be a terrible idea (just a bad one) if they had put velcro on all of them but instead they decided to save some money and only put velcro on one of them. If they think I'm going to be able to walk around all day without these random foam pads sliding up and out of the boot they are very mistaken. Even with the little random pads, I went ahead and slipped it on my foot to check out how it feels again. Perhaps I can squeeze the straps tight enough to keep the boot in place without the pads. After several steps it became clear the boot was still uncomfortable on my shin and felt loose around my foot. Not only that, after a few steps my wife said "you're going to feel very self-conscious walking around cathedrals in Europe making that sound". I took a few more steps and realized it sounded as though each step I took, someone was ripping the scales off an armadillo - a large angry armadillo. A very loud squeak, velcro ripping sound accompanied every bend of the ankle both forward and backward. So, I gave it a try with an open mind but now I even like the boot less if that was possible.
