Great Product
I bought this item for camping with my children. We were looking for a light weight grill that we could use to cook for the four of us. This grill is perfect for our needs. I used it to cook four chicken breasts and had plenty of grill space left over for baked potatoes and corn on the cob. When used with the vital stove, which is sold separately, there is definitely plenty of heat available to cook any meal!! By using the fan speed setting in conjunction with the adjustable damper, it is also possible to get very "low and slow" and effectively smoke your meats... awesome!!! I used roughly 12 inches of white pine (2x4 scraps from framing) total to cook 4 thawed chicken breasts and you could definitely taste a difference over charcoal!!Cons:The "carry case" leaves a bit to be desired. They send a soft burlap? sack and the instructions tell you to place the packing box inside of this case to "give it rigidity"... better than nothing I suppose but they really need to do better than that. It saves a couple of bucks in production costs and shipping and maybe an ounce or two in weight but not a great idea for a camping grill. The first time this case gets wet, the box will turn into moldy mush. Also, would like to see a plastic or rubber ring that would restrict movement and allow for "nesting" the vital stove inside of the dome of the grill when packed without damaging either piece. If you make one of these after reading this review Solhuma, send me one.Clean-up is a bit of a bear... welcome to grilling I know... but more so in this case because your intention when finished cooking will assumedly be to pack the unit up.The tongs work great, as tongs. They are an inadequate handle for the upper dome (lid). They seem to work fine to remove and replace the lid but slide out of position when the user tries to turn the lid on its side to use the cradle that is built into the frame of the grill. Same problem when trying to move the lid from the cradle to cover the grill. I like the idea of being able to repurpose equipment especially when camping, but in this case, to work properly there needs to be a positive locking system for the handle when engaged in the lid. Perhaps the ends of the tongs could be set at a 90 deg. angle and holes drilled into the bracket on either end that would allow for the ends of the tongs to be placed in the holes... this would allow for rotational movement of the lid during use...? Again, Solhuma, if you implement this change, please do send it to me.One last comment, if you are grilling on a windy day (as I was) set the grill up so that the heat sink is facing into the wind, this should help to prevent hot spots on the downwind side of the grill. The vital stove grilling combo is a must have for any group camping trip, although the grill is a bit heavy for backpacking. With a few simple tweaks in the design, it could very well become a camping staple. The pros are obvious and in my judgment, far outweigh the cons I've listed. I would (and have) recommended this item.

GOOD ITEM
Very simple set up and ease of use. One will have to use it a couple times to learn to comfortable with it. Only big issue is that it is stamp aluminum and so has some edges. Moving the parts around it gave me a couple "paper cuts" on my fingers so wearing gloves while setting up and cleaning is needed.

not as described
even though description says that item comes with the stove, for some reason the stove was not included, wound up buying it separately and paying again for it.

A little difficult to master but it's worth the effort.
This review is about the grill -- not the stove. The grill comes with everything that you need: legs, base, grill pan, heat deflector, grill, firebox cover, lid, lid/wood tool, and heat shield (important, but not shown in picture) . It takes a few minutes to set up and it must be done correctly: the leg bases must point inward, the deflector must be aligned properly, the firebox cover must slide toward the rear, and the heat shield must be placed between the grill pan and the stove.Once it's set up it works very well for grilling, although to add wood during cooking you must be able to slide the firebox cover back, possibly moving food to do so. It takes a little practice to be able to remove and replace the lid with the lid/wood tool without the lid falling to the ground, but it soon becomes second nature.By using the two speeds of the stove's battery pack and the slide damper you can easily control the heat from low to blazing hot. It's possible to create great meals if you pay attention and adjust the wood, fan, and slide damper appropriately. In summary, it takes some time and practice to master this grill, but it's worth the effort to create great meals from the back country to the back porch.
