The mechanism works perfectly! It's been keeping accurate time all week. Fitting notes - The old hands on my 12" clock face would not fit on the new shaft so I used the supplied hour & minute hands. The supplied hands were too long but, with some judicious trimming & filing, they were made to fit. Although a bit thicker than the original, the clock is now easier for me to read in dim light - a plus!

I needed a new clock movement for an old clock. This unit fit perfectly. Easy to install.

Purchased this silent movement to replace one in my kitchen clock. The most important measurement is the length of the threaded part that goes through the clock face. A smidge longer is fine because you can always put a washer or two behind it, but if it's too short you won't be able get the nut on the front that holds the movement in place. Also....check the length of the hands you already have to be sure that the new ones won't be too long or too short. Chances are that your old hands may not be compatible with the new movement, so I suggest getting the whole kit with new hands that match the movement. Takes one AA battery which is not included. Keeps accurate time.

Works good, and was easy to install

I return a mechanism from another vendor, but this one worked perfectly. It came with hands but I needed the existing hands to work since it was a vintage M & M clock and needed to look original. The shaft diameters were perfect and matched the specification. The last one from the other vendor did not. The clock ran as soon as I put in the battery. It was very quiet as well. Nice product!

Worth the money. Beats throwing a clock away

I have tried three different types of AA batteries in this clock movement: new carbon zinc; new alkaline; and freshly recharged Amazon Basics NiMH (Nickel-Metal Hydride) rechargeables. Prior to insertion in the movement, I tested all of the batteries with my multi-meter and all tested at the high end of "good." I started with the standard carbon zink batteries because I had read that they are preferred for clock movements of this type. The movement lost roughly two hours a day with those batteries, so I switched to the alkaline batteries. Same result...the movement runs, but looses about two hours a day. Finally, I tried the Amazon Basics NiMH rechargeables (again, I had just freshly charged these). The movement again lost roughly two hours a day with those batteries. I would recommend that you do not buy this movement.

Keeps time but it's loud. I can hear the mechanism from across the room. Not my clock ticking, it's the sound of this mechanism.

Ich hatte genau dieses Uhrwerk wegen der Abmessungen von Gehäuse und Gewinde gesucht und war etwas skeptisch bezüglich der langen „Anreise“. Hat aber alles super geklappt, das Uhrwerk kam pünktlich, wie angekündigt und sicher verpackt an. Seitdem läuft es zuverlässig und genau in unserer Küchenuhr. Vielen Dank!

Totally fine replacement, so far so good.

Worked for about 1 week and then started losing 10 minutes/day. Tried another new Duracell battery but didn't help. Returning.

The mechanism works fine . I had to straighten the hands that were bent in flimsy shipping package. Price was ok but it would be better to charge a tiny bit more for a solid package instead of the ‘non protective envelope’.
