I was convinced to purchase these after reading the reviews, but still skeptical they would get enough recharge power without direct sunlight.We live in a heavily wooded area near Seattle and our home is in the shade the entire day, and rains nearly constantly. Despite that these are always surprisingly bright when activated and seem to charge great in the shade.

Only three stars because the mounting plate is a piece of garbage. It is a steel plate (which will probably rust), but the opening into which the pole mounting screw fits through, is a rectangle that is cut on three sides and bent outwards. There is no possible way to mount his plate flush with the surface you are attaching it to, and the mounting pole will be at an angle instead of being horizontal. Stupid design with a capital S. My other complaint is that the light can not be mounted without the included poles. I do not need the light to be extended from the wall, I need it to be flush. Like the light fixture, the seven different color adjustment (from warm white to bright white) and the three operating modes; so I will not return it, I will devise some way to mount the light flush against the wall without using the poles. Hopefully someone called "seller" will read the review and make a suggestion to the manufacturer.

The basic taper screw ( 6mm x 1.0 ) is extended from base. I purchased from Amazon TOOGOO 6mm x 1.0 length 35mm hex socket pan head screws. In order to attach this to a Wooden Cleat which I intend to make from a 4x4 8 in in length. It shall be cut at a 12 degree taper to mount to the Eaves, the upper edge sealed to the eaves. The new bolt installed thru the cleat and counter sunk by forester bit, and fastened by two course thread screws into the cleat. Has this should give me room to install two cameras, and a plastic single gang box under the Cleat, and route all wiring into and through the cleat, creating a tamper proof assembly. I will update this once I get them installed, and get my customers feedback.

Bought a pair of the white ones, allthough small in dimensions discouraged me at first, I must say, these mini pole top type lights are a surprisingly mind blowing surprise. They definitely lit up my back Patio big time where it once was pretty dark. So far so good, time will tell. I recommend them for sure. A+

Great design. The pole extenders are a nice addition, making it easier to secure the light from a roof. Well made. My only complaint is that the light is really a very very bright white light, much too bright for my front porch. And when you look at it, it can be blinding... However, if you are in need of a bright light in a very dark space, this will be great. I moved them to my back yard, and am hoping when it gets dark, they stay on all night.

It's been a few weeks with this but I'm really pleased with it. Wish the delivery person wasn't so rough with it too considering the box was mashed up a bit. No physical damage noticed though. Weird issue was that the battery inside the remote was rusted a bit. I removed it and cleaned it out but it seems that it may have been exposed to moisture? It works and is inexpensive so no biggy.

Works pretty well, though you have to be fairly close before it comes on. And it goes off pretty fast when you stop moving around. Puts out a good amount of light. The instructions say to hang it fairly low to the ground, which we tried but it didn't put out a very wide circle of light. Seems to come on about the same even if it is a fair amount higher than recommended.

Buyer Beware! I purchased 2 sets of these because reviews seemed so positive. Not one light worked. I placed all four in the sun for 2 days, (since after being in sun for full day did not charge, I tried an additional day in sun). The instructions state if solar lights do not work batteries may need to be replaced. Really? There is no easy way to get to battery (no battery door to open) The solar lights are completely closed with four small screws. I regret this purchase.
