New book was moldy
I’m confident the book will be a good read as I have purchased it as part of the required reading for grad school. However, the edition sent to me had mold growing on the pages.

A wonderful book for anyone working with traumatized children
This book is written for elementary and secondary school teachers and support personnel but it can easily be used by teachers, mental health workers, etc. who work with children of all ages. I am a school social worker and have so many unread books on my shelves but this was recommended to me and it is an awesome resource! Best thing I've read in years. The end of each chapter has reflection questions for teachers prompting them to think about whether or not their classroom (and the teacher) is truly trauma-sensitive. My own building and 2 others in my district are using this as a book study for the year. It's an easy read and well worth buying for all staff.

What are you waiting for??? This is a MUST read for all educators.
I cant stress how great this book is for any educator. I currently work in a Title I elementary school and as soon as I finished the book I sent out an email to my entire staff encouraging them to read it. It's that good!Kristin Souers’s background is in mental health and Pete Hall’s resume includes teaching and administrator. The combination equates to realistic ways to use the information they are sharing, which if we are being honest doesn’t always seem to happen in professional development books. Part of why it feels do-able is because they encourage self-reflection and questioning when you find yourself in situations with a student, which I love. They also take time to explain what trauma is and what to look for in the classroom. You can read my full review here: https://thespiritedschoolcounselor.wordpress.com/2016/06/20/fostering-resilient-learners-a-must-read/

A TEACHER MUST READ...
CRUCIAL reading for teachers (or really any one who works with children or any human) to help build our background about how to approach our kiddos. Everyone comes with a story and this author does a beautiful job informing and inspiring readers to remember this. I suggest taking courses with her in person as well--great energy! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

A MUST READ FOR ANY EDUCATOR
After meeting both the authors I was so excited to read this book, and man it was so worth it! I work in an urban school and our focus has been to understand trauma. With the way this book is written, it’s to the point and is actually interesting to read. Also the reflection questions have also started great conversations during PLCs meetings. This is a must read for any educator who is trying to manage and understand trauma.

Must Buy
Great book. Buy it for sure. If you're a teacher ask your principal if they'll pay for it for you. I bought mine used and it was in great condition.

This book is an amazing text on a trauma-sensitive classroom
This book is an amazing text on a trauma-sensitive classroom. I read this book quickly, and now it is sitting at my desk at school and I am working through parts of it again. It is a great framework for the how-tos. Love it.
