Product description Want to restrain your dog in the car but worried they will chew through a standard webbing seat belt? Our pet seat belt car restraint is made of vinyl coated steel rope - the same material used in dog tie-outs. We designed this product to help dog owners keep their dogs secure in a car without worrying about chewing. Our dog restraint clips to your car's isofix bars which are standard on all vehicles made after 2002. These bars are designed for child car seats and are welded directly to your car's frame. For additional mobility, you can instead clip dog restraint to the sliding metal tab on the car's seat belt. Three sizes are available for different size dogs. Our weight/size information are estimates. Please measure the distance from your dog's harness ring to the isofix bar to ensure you purchase the right size. The sizes below indicate the length of the entire restraint, including both metal snaps. Typical sizes (weights are approximate): 56 cm - Small / Medium Dogs (0-29 kg) 66 cm - Large Dogs (30-39 kg) 79 cm - Extra Large Dogs (40-50 kg) Legal Disclaimer Not intended as a vehicle safety device in a collision.

Revised
I bought this as a seat belt restraint but it arrived with no connection for the seat belt fitting so a total waste of time. Unfortunately, there is a second size coming tomorrow in this item so it will also have to be sent back. Please see attached message from seller that explains this restraint.Hi Dympna,I saw your review on Amazon for the dog seat belt and I wanted to help you out because there was a misunderstanding. Understandably, you thought that because it's a seat belt that it should have the seat belt buckle. That's completely understandable, but in fact this seat belt is designed to attach to the ISOFIX latch, like a car seat for babies. It is safer because a dog can sometimes unbuckle the seat belt by accident, but they can't unfasten from the ISOFIX. Please see the attached image showing how it connects to the car. These ISOFIX can be found in the back seat and in the trunk/boot of the car.If this was helpful in resolving your concern, I'd ask you to consider revising your review and rating to include this new information and hopefully help prevent others from having the same misunderstanding.Best,Mati M.DPG & Last Leash

Hopefully, indestructible!
The final solution!I have two puppies, one 17 months and one 7 months, they go everywhere with me, including to work (I am a landscape gardener) they have always worn a harness (RAC harness, also bought for Amazon, and excellent) and are always "clipped in" to the truck, it used to be with the standard seat belt to collar type "lead". However when I got the second puppy she liked to chew (still does) and so chewed through the leads, leaving herself and sometimes her sister with no restraint. I, fortunately had a friend who worked with an industrial sewing machine so every week she would make new leads and then take the chewed ones to repair for next week, but even with this convenience I still had to have at least four leads per dog to ensure they were always safe. Sorry for the long review but I wanted to explain why I bought these seat belts. They have not been chewed, they cannot be chewed through and even better instead of using the seat belt buckle they clip onto the fixings used for a child seat. This means the dogs cannot stand on the buckle and accidentally undo themselves and should I want to squash a human into the back seat with them the seat belts are still free to be used! My only non positive comment is they could be longer. I have two large (German Shepherd size) dogs, if they are wearing their harnesses the belt length is ok, but if I have to clip them to their collars they are a little short. An option for different lengths would be good, small dogs would have no problems with the length but if you are buying for large dogs please note this issue with length.

KEEP YOUR PET SAFE WHILE TRAVELLING
After spending a lot of money on various dog restraints for the car,I was at my wits end. My 6 month old cockapoo puppy has chewed through them and/or released them from the seat belt clip. Then I discovered this It clips to the isofix behind the back seat, also metal covered in hard plastic so even if he chews it he can't destroy it or release himself. I bought the 56cm as this allows him to stand and turn around etc, without moving from back seat. Money well spent in my opinion and would definitely recommend.

Would definitely recommend
Very happy with this product. I bought this as the one I had previously broke. I can't believe I ever tried to use anything else. Keeps my pupper safe and isn't easily broken even though she sometimes gets frustrated and enjoys nibbling it.Check your sizing as I imagine this is important for smaller dogs. I have a German shepperd puppy who is not small and definitely not weak. I got her the large which is perfect.

Delivery was very fast and the tethers did exactly what we needed them to do. Keeps the dogs secured by the black clip of their harnesses whilst allowing them to move and not become entangled as the swivel clip stops the tether shortening up as they change positions. As expected 1 of the dogs did attempt to chew (he's a monkey) which made a mess of the outer plastic coating (only to be expected given he's a staffy) but the inner steel cable survived albeit a little crooked lol. I will mire than likely purchase another just for aesthetic reasons and hope this time he will not bother with the 'can I escape' routine ++++

Bought 2 for transporting a large golden retriever and JRT in an Audi A3 with the seats down. We hook them into the large silver D-rings that the seats usually lock into so a very secure anchor point. The JRT is restrained on a harness and the retriever on a collar. Both can lay down in the back but are not near the driver or passenger. This is an extremely well made solution to securing your pet in a vehicle without crates or complicated straps. The added benefit is that the dogs have learned not to charge out of the car when you open the boot.

Definitely buy this one!
Looking on the Internet I was a bit dubious in what type of restraint to buy. However if your car has ISOFIX do buy this! From being a car enthusiast I know there are the normal click in seatbelt type ones but also the security and strength of the metal buckle can cause it to fail in accidents. However this resolves my concerns and won't encourage the dog to eat my other seat belts in the process! I went for medium, it suits my 14 week old cockapoo so wouldn't recommend going smaller.

Excellent item we use them in the boot for two dogs as there are two rings to clip to and when only our dog (black lab) clip easily to the seat and no more chewed seat belts! She has had a chew of these but although she has marked the plastic sheath no damage to the restraint itself perfect!
