Raised over 12 babie button Quails in this . No problems , no causalitys . I will say the only main concern is ventilation and monitoring the temp inside & The thermometer it came with was wildly inaccurate. Get yourself a different thermometer and your good . Don't close the lid . Most likely babies don't fly . Don't put adult/ big sized birds in ( they will jump/fly and hit their head on the roof or light) . The light works great ( no fire thank God ) . Easy to install . Easy to clean (used dog pee pads folded ) . I even love the little water and feed her it came with was very helpful. The size was actually perfect but also I measured it before I bought it so I already knew that . Honestly, great product, great deal !

Nice little piece of equipment. I’ve used it twice so far. I’m a small time quail raiser, raising for family consumption. It wasn’t difficult to put together but the screws to attach the light were wrong so I substituted some I had. I have indoor cats so I do put mine inside an extra pet cage and I did glue in and then added tape to the front plastic see- through panel bc my adopted feral- turned self domesticated hunter cat likes to stick her hand through the bars to look for weak spots 😂 but I like it. I use it the first week for my cortunix quail hatches. It’s not hard to clean and I think it’ll hold up for quite a while as long as you have a floor covering like a puppy pad or some paper and then about 2 inches up on all sides. The light is POWERFUl so no worries about keeping the heat up. It’s good for us small time ppl and I paid $40 for it so I’m happy with the value as long as you clean it properly which you should be doing with any brooder. I’d buy another one of it if my numbers of hatches got higher. Very pleased.

UPDATE: After about 5 weeks of use the wood completely split and the nesting box fell apart.The wood is flimsy It only came with four screws although the directions called for 16 screws I now have to hunt down 12 additional screws to put this box together. I ordered two nesting boxes and each box came with four. Highly disappointed as I was looking forward to putting this together for my hens

The light did not have a plug attached so I used a different light base and the light cooked my chicks in under and hour. I had a thermometer in the box and I noticed after about an hour that the reading went blank went out to the garage and the chicks were all dead. It is a good quality box, not meant for more than a couple chicks and don't use the light. find a different heating source. I ended up building a bigger box out of scrap wood but will keep this in case I need to separate any chicks in the future

Easy to assemble and my chicks loved it. Adjustable heat and lamp controls plus super easy to keep warm and to clean. Because it is wooden I would recommend a bedding to line the bottom. It is pretty good quality except for the plastic window. I would’ve preferred it to be glass because the plastic piece does get dirty very easy. You can only put about 3-4 chicks in at a time and only for a few weeks. It is very small.

This brooder box is very well made and works perfectly for raising chicks. The size is practical, the material feels durable, and it is easy to clean. SMALLcan't fit more than 2 chicks (after they grow huge in a week ) I put 4 and after a week and a half they are super agitated in this small spacethermometer sucked dosent give accurate quick real time readings of the tempature and broke easily while cleaning itfeeder and waterer are tiny and the feeder clogged up easily blocking the food for the chick'slamp is 25w NOT 50w as advertisednow for the pros:cheapstrong nice designcomes with everything you need (technically) except for foodconclusion: ONLY buy if using this for 1- 2 chicks

This brooder was exactly what I needed for my newly hatched chicks. It arrived overnight and just in time-complete with everything I needed to be successful. It was super easy to put together, the wood is incredible durable.. It is light enough for my ten year old can carry it into different room if necessary. the hinged top makes clean up super easy and the clear window makes it a constant source of entertainment. My three chicks fit perfectly with room to spare. This kit being such a great price I would recommend it to anyone starting out.
