Great coffee roaster for the price
The media could not be loaded. The roaster arrived a week ahead of the estimated date and in perfect condition. UK plug and no import costs. My first roast went very well, faster than my current Behmor roaster and I love being to see/smell the beans using the trier. There is a little more smoke than my Behmor but I was still able to roast in the kitchen, under the extractor fan.If you like modding stuff then there look to be some active groups...for artisan mods etc.For this price this looks like a nice 400g roaster.

Best value roaster today 2024
This roaster is a godsent. Couple years ago your only options were a breadmaker and heat gun, the Behmor, or more consumer friendly options in the €2000 range. Please do join the community forums, do the Artisan upgrade and you have a great consistent home roaster with decent load size.I use the roaster in my shed and use the exhaust pipe pointing out the window behind it. Roasting indoors is possible, yet some smoke will be inevitable, so use it near some ventillation otherwise your amoke detectors will alarm you.One more note. The item came damaged, I reached out to the seller and they sent me a replacement part without issue. Customer care is also great in that regard.

Great roaster for price
The preset profiles make it very easy to get a great light and medium roast - I haven't attempted dark roasts on this roaster. The smoke purifier lets out some smoke, so provided ventilation exhaust is a good alternative to purifier in poorly ventilated areas.

Simply Fantastic
Have been roasting my own seed's for nearly 4 years with a small (150g max volume) smart roaster (Sandbox Smart R1) and since purchasing / using I've learnt a fair bit about roasting, however only really used a custom and a couple of professional profiles. The R1 was getting tired and possibly needing a replacement part or two, this along with the fact I have to roast 3 - 4 batches in one go as I consume a LOT of coffee every couple of weeks, led me to look at alternatives, so found this and thought I'd take a punt.WOW, it's simply fantastic and have tried 2 of the built in 9 profiles and can't fault, especially given the volume (would have taken nearly 2 hours on my old roaster what this did in around 25 mins) and then add on to this the price point well.....For anyone thinking of getting into roasting your own seed's, then I can highly recommend this, you simply can't go wrong. Can't recommend enough.

Impressive Machine
There was a problem with the roaster as delivered, but Customer Service could not have been more helpful - an extra star deserved by them. The instructions could be improved - I am unsure that the auto program works exactly how it is stated. It would also do no harm, and help me a lot, if the program details were part of the instructions - max. temperature, fan speed and power level. They can be read from the controller, by scrolling through, but a simple chart would be better. The acid test will be longevity as I can't see this sort of thing being in production, unchanged and supported for many years............. There is a "second generation" machine available at just short of double the price which has the facility to save your own roasting programs, amongst other bells and whistles.Down sides?High roast is at the very limit of the machine as it cuts out at 230C. If you like very dark roast with an oily finish, this machine will struggle. Also, not obvious if you use the filter rather than the chimney, but a lot of chaff exits via the exhaust, past the collector, which may cause problems PDQ if using the filter, and as the mount for the filter/chimeny is not sealed, an awful lot of smoke leaks from around where it mounts to the case. The very last very few beans also take ages to fall from the drum, so find something to prop the door open, so that they can fall out eventually.

A fantastic little coffee bean roaster for the money!
The media could not be loaded. Quick delivery with no extra charges. Very easy to set up and use. I've had great results and success so far. Only time will tell for it's longevity. Only downside I can see is warranty support and parts availability.
