These professional sawtooth hangers are self fastening. With metal prongs on either end they can be hammered directly into the picture frame with no need for screws or nails. Brass hangers are not a good choice
These are made of brass and if you try to put them into wood, Good Luck ! I bought these thinking they were brass plated for looks, but I was wrong, they are brass and only brass, not a good choice for hammering into wood.

Very poor quality
These are so thin, they bend and break while trying to hammer into wood. Terrible product.
