This was surprisingly a great basket! So much better than the ones that came with my machine. Fits perfectly - Cleans up easily - Very well made - Thick and Secures nicely in Portafilter handle - Puck comes out without much effort - Functions very nicely - Pips in and out making removal so easy - Worth every dollar spent

If you haven't gotten a quality basket for your espresso machine, this is a great option for beginners. I had a bought a capfei bottomless portafilter and needless to say I was unsatisfied at first because the provided basket was poor quality. I tried perfecting my puck prep and nothing worked. I bought this one hoping that everything would improve and it sure did! The evenness of the shot and the flavor was amazing. Left no fine grounds in my cup and was easy to wipe out. I can't recommend enough!

Was really hoping this would work out for me - but it did not. The quality is great so no issues there - its a good product overall. I am using it with the Gaggia Classic 2024 - so the Larger brass boiler - still I think it pushing the limits of the machine and produces an inferior espresso. Also I get very wet pucks - I've tried dialing it in for several days and its just a very average (at best) espresso. I guess 18g is the max from that machine.

Update: customer service reached out and kindly offered a solution while also explaining the issue with compatibility. Highly recommend the seller. Doesn't fit Casabrews ultra because the lip is too thick. As popular as the machine is, an incompatibility message would be nice. Instead I had to waste time and couldn't tell ya how well they function.

Works great and looks great, seems durable. The difference in quality and outcome between this and the stock baskets that come with espresso machines is huge. This brand makes quality stuff.

If you own a KitchenAid KES640X line of espresso machines then this is a must upgrade. I've owned the espresso machine for a good year and a half now and have always struggled to pull a decent shot of espresso that is consistent with the provided single wall double shot basket. Being new to the espresso scene (i actually make cappuccino out of the shot so...dont judge) watching videos and trying to figure out the right way to grind, tamper and pull the shot has been an interesting adventure which prompted me to put a hole through the included portafilter (the included plastic flow mechanism is definitely a design flaw that traps good crema in its crevices) which then allowed me to view & troubleshoot the flow of the espresso up-close. The constant sputtering and sprays after trying out various grind sizes, grounds & measuring the espresso yield i've concluded that my fate is sealed with the entry level espresso machine until i came across this basket filter on sale.. Look and behold! A simple basket replacement, 18 grams of medium roasted grounds, exact same brew parameters yielded consistent amounts of espresso (about 65ml). Where it used to sputter and spray consistently now it sputters a lot less (my tamper skill sucks) and barely sprays! Flavor is much more consistent and the appearance of a nice layer of crema became a standard. Trying new beans have been more rewarding now that i can dial into the new grinds a lot easier! I do wonder what and how the "Butterfly Effect" compares to the "Deep Extraction" basket that they have on sale but that is a story for a different time. Overall the build quality is excellent as it fits snugly onto the original portafilter (a bit stiff but works fine for me). It looks like a thin layer of fine filter is fitted onto the rougher filter at the bottom but the thickness of the bottom layer feels like it will hold just fine. This is compared to the original provided basket which has started to buck from the tampering. Original basket weight : 28 grams Original basket mesh diameter : 30mm (about) MHW-3BOMBER basket : 45 grams <--- big difference in build quality. MHW-3BOMBER basket diameter : 50mm (about) <--- Chuck the provided baskets and get them after market solutions. No regrets.

appeared well made but did not fit my normcore portafilter, which is weird because that thing takes every basket I throw at it as long as I put the right spring in it. The problem was that this one didn't seat all the way in regardless of which spring I used.

This basket is so solid! Fits my portafilter tighter than ims baskets do. The double layer of filtration allows for a very even extraction. It has less acidity than some other high flow baskets but I believe this is do to a more even extraction across the puck. I have found that pulling 20 second shots yield better results and less bitterness in the cup. I also have the Dex and would say this is more balanced and smoother shot while the Dex basket has more accidity and sharper contrast in flavor separation and can be harsh if not perfectly dialed in. This basket for the price can’t be beat.

One side of the basket has an unfinished weld between the inner and outer parts, which creates a path for water to flow through too easily. This also causes the inner filter to be uneven, resulting in poor extraction. I'm pretty disappointed—especially since I bought a grinder from the same brand and was really impressed with the quality. I expected the same level of craftsmanship from this basket. I’ll reach out to the seller for support. Edit: I reached out to MHW who sent me a replacement. It looked fine at first, but showed the same issue after a few espressos.
