Alexandrite is a color changing bead due to a mineral that is added to the glass. Color of the glass bead changes according to it's light source. BLUE in Fluorescent lighting, LAVENDER with Incandescent lighting and LILAC in Sunlight. String alone or with other beads and/or findings. Awesome clarity!PLEASE KEEP IN MIND The different "hues" of color can vary slightly. This exception is the incandescent "round" bulbs and the incandescent "tubular or swirly" energy efficient bulbs can create different color results. *also* Photo shows examples of the colors to expect. Although the colors are not subtle...they are not drastic or bold either.
