High Quality and Effective. Just work through the initial blisters!
I realised as I got older (62) that my grip strength was decreasing. A doctor recommended hand grip exercisers during a full medical so I thought I would give it a try. I do plenty of exercise, but had not been targeting my hands and forearms.I thought I had ordered the 1.5 model (76kg) but actually received the 2 model (88 kg). This has worked out well for me as by now the 1.5 would be too weak. I use the hand gripper several times a day when sitting at my computer thinking through a tough problem. When I first started I really struggled to close the grips more than a little. Also, the relatively rough surface gave an excellent grip, but also caused callouses. I persevered and after three or four weeks my hands had toughened and I could easily do reps of 10. My wrist and hand strength has increased noticeably, but I will not be ready to move up to a stronger gripper for some time yet. No 2 is just right for me.I subsequently bought a 60lb model for my wife at her request, and she said it has really helped relieve some hand pain she had been experiencing. The quality and results are excellent. It just squeaks a bit which can annoy people around you.

The product is fantastic quality - there is no way the product could be damaged. The knurling, as others have mentioned, is slightly harsh but it does provide you with more traction when gripping the COC. I bought the trainer and it is pretty challenging for me. I perform single reps throughout the day which provides me a good workoutGood Product and well worth the additional money IMO

A hand gripper you will want to own forever!
I bought this gripper on recommendation from a 'strength training for climbing' website; this product was rated as one of the best to use for grip training. The knurled handles make the product feel extra secure when held in the hand. The finishing is of a high standard too and it doesn't appear that it be susceptible to rusting. I would recommend this product to anyone interested in developing strong forearm strength and to improve their grip. I have given this product 5 star because in my own opinion you can't get better than this. Don't try to compare these to the standard hand grips you find in the sport stores.Obviously at the time of purchase I had no idea how to interpret the CoC numbers (in lb & kg) and on a whim I bought the CoC #2.5 (237lb / 108kb) this turned out to be a very bad idea as I found out; they're not called Captain of Crush for fun! It will be many months before I can comfortably squeeze these to touch. IMO I would recommend stating out with a CoC #1.5 (if you feel you have a 'world class grip') and then taking it from there. My palms hurt a lot (not bruised but really sore) after the first two days of practice. I found investing in an Iron Mind 'Egg' particularly useful; this has helped my sore hands - rehab, recovery and something therapeutic to play with in between CoC training.I have since ordered the CoC #1.5 and will ease into a CoC #2.5 in a more 'controlled' manner. This is one Gripper you will want to own forever!

awesome
These came a couple of days ago and I already love them. Having been given some awful wooden everlast grippers in the past the build quality of the CoC impressed me. I ordered these because my general strength has outpaced my grip and I now regularly use straps in the gym for heavy lifts. For those wondering which to buy: I've been training heavy in the gym for 5+ years and am a big guy so I ordered the number 2, 195lbs and it's pretty heavy! After a couple of days I'm maybe 1mm away from closing either hand and expect to be there in a week or so. Unless you specifically train power/strongman or have used one of these before I'd recommend the number 2 even if you consider yourself well trained. If you are used to general gym calluses on hands and don't wear gloves I'd say the textured grip is absolutely fine. However if you're not... I think they'd be a bit of a killer.

tough little buggers
I'm 36, 6 foot 12 stone and thought I had a pretty strong grip(good at pull ups..etc) I ordered the 1.5 grippers thinking I would do at least a couple of reps.....I was wrong. I'm about 1 cm from 1 rep so a little disappointed. Good solid product though and a lot better quality than my cheap wooden handled one's. Need to get training.....
