Not just a “shelf queen”!
I've had an interest in this knife for a few years now, mainly because of its design: A single, continuous curve of steel, with the mismatched ends connected by a sharp, straight line. Simple, elegant. But I held off for two reasons: The first was the price, even though I knew then it was a steal of a custom knife. I generally can't afford a $100 knife. And even when I spent birthday money on this, my wife rolled her eyes. But the other reason I hesitated was a fear that it would only be a "shelf queen" - pretty, but not at all practical.I can now assure you that this knife is quite practical. My fears were largely based on a misunderstanding of just how big this knife is on the hand. At around 4.5 inches long, is bigger than it looks in photos. It feels awesome in the hand, even with my long typist's fingers. And the geometry of the blade to grip angle means the blade is naturally angled downwards towards the material being cut. I was pleasantly surprised to see how easy it was to break down boxes and open clam-shell packages with it.Overall in quite pleased with my Silent Soldier. A very functional fixed blade in a very pocketable or neckable size.About the seller: I actually verified with Brous Blades that Life Tools is one of their verified resellers. And their customer service is superb. They accidentally shipped the wrong variation of this knife at first. After I contacted them about the issue, they responded quickly, and cross-shipped the replacement. I would definitely buy from them again.

Very neat little knife
I've always loved wharncliffe-style blades finding the blade shape very useful, and own a fair number of them from various manufacturers. This one is one of the best executions - and hands down my favorite - I've ever seen. The knife is made of 3/16" stock with "melted" (rounded) edges making it quite comfortable to hold despite lacking traditional handle scales or wrapping, and while it is light enough i can wear it while sleeping it has a solid feel to it i like a lot. the large (7/8") fingerhole makes choking up on the blade for extra precision or force very easy. I have not found any real use for the rear hole so far as holding the knife and regard it as no more than a way to lighten the knife a bit. I do wish the unusual jimping on the top of the blade extended a bit further back, but that's picking nits. It is quite sharp from the factory though not "razor" sharp and the D2 steel seems to hold an edge well. The knife is unconventional enough that I'm not certain most people would even recognize it as a knife when sheathed; it's just a metal ring sticking out of a bit of plastic. I wore it openly clipped to my belt recently and nobody even noticed as I visited both a public library and a museum. While I give the knife itself five stars, the sheath falls well short of that. The removable metal belt clip is angled and while it is claimed it allows multiple mounting options, in reality it is only serviceable in a right hand horizontal carry as any other position of the clip blocks the front hole and hinders drawing the knife. Additionally, the clip only accommodates belts up to 1-1/4" in width when it could easily have been manufactured to handle 1-1/2" belts without any modification to the kydex sheath. That having been said, the clip holds the sheath securely and the clip does the same for the knife. I just wish Brous Blades had made the clip larger and with 90 degree angles to allow vertical carry. I'm considering getting a custom sheath made for it.In any case, this knife was worth every penny.
