Cheap alternative to a "Tilly"
Needed for a hot September with sun and showers in the jungles of..... Florida.Before you laugh the brim is wider than a baseball cap to protect you from the sun. The brim also funnels water so it doesn't run down your neck in heavy rain. The chin strap stops it being lost if it blows off on a roller coaster and to top it off it is soft enough to just ram in the bag of a theme park tourist with our worrying about it getting ruined.I have used a Tilly hat for 30 years and yes it isn't as good as that but for the price it is brilliant.

fits around 59/60cm.
Functional: it fits me so around 59/60 cm. I don't see where it is easily adjustable unless you put a few stitches in the hat band. Its shapelessness should wear in and give it a personality of its own. Bought it to keep the sun off my head and neck while fishing, so style is not an issue.

I was slightly put off by the reviews about it being on the small side but thought I'd take a punt. My head is 60cm and it fits perfectly. Quality is reasonable - no complaints. Needed it as a sun hat for trekking in Africa and as it has a wide brim it looks like it will do the job.

Might have been quite good but...
While the hat generally felt quite good I was not that impressed to find that the string/chinstrap was freyed at the top quite badly. I might have been able to live with it if the hat was cheap but this thing is supposed to retail for £26 according to the product page? Will be returning for a refund.

Good hat let down by a design defect.
This hat is generally well made and is very good value but has a fundamental design fault. The crown has a double layer of fabric but the ventilation studs only go through the outer layer so they are completely ineffective. It took me a short while to remove the inner layer and make good so I now have a cool head as well as a protected head.

Ok, so it's not stylish ...
... but it does provide personal, portable shade which has been invaluable this summer!

A little tight but looks good
A little tight and kind of makes you too hot. I like the neck tie though as it can hang down. Generally looks great on too.
