It's definitely zesty and cheezy tasting. At first it tastes a lot like a cheesy chef boyardee tomato sauce (like a 50 mozzarella cheese/50 tomato sauce taste), then less than a second later you taste the 'zest' and spices that reminds you that yes, this is queso. I think it's this quality that affords it so many versatile applications.At 2.5 g of fat per serving, a nut-free recipe, and not having any unnamed "flavor" ingredients this is an easy win on the ingredient scale as well.The consistency is mostly a smooth paste (thankfully, I'm tired of excessive 'chunks') and is quite suitable for the applications it suggests.I am very surprised that I have found a vegan queso product that I like. I'm glad I ordered this.PSA per their staff's correspondence it's recommended that once opening you finish within a couple of weeks but it can technically last much longer, like a condiment.

I ordered this product because I recently transitioned to a vegan diet and I felt the need for some queso. Unfortunately, the first jar was busted when it arrived (USPS handling issue) and I contacted the seller and they re-shipped, no questions asked. The second jar arrived intact :)I used it as a topping for a “tofu taco bowl” and wow!! So delicious!!! To me, it doesn’t really taste like queso, but it’s so yummy that I don’t even care. I highly recommend this product!

As a long-time dairy-free cook, having used many other vegan “cheese” products, I feel qualified to give this opinion. In my view this sauce is not even close to tasting like cheese & does not have the consistency either. It is more of a thick vegetable bisque. It has good flavor if you need a tomato-based sauce, but on nachos or burgers it doesn’t work & runs off. I appreciate the effort to make a healthy product, but Sellers should not deceive & perhaps change labeling to reflect the true product.

This is probably one of the worst tasting vegan cheeses I've ever tasted. If you like the taste of vinegar, you're in luck because that's all you taste with a little bit of other seasonings. Tried it hot, cold, with a variety of foods... just didn't do it for me.

The consistency and color were similar to nacho cheese, it tastes good. The tomato flavor stands out so it would probably be really good on pasta. It was packaged well and arrived on time.
