My friend who is a Montessori teacher of pre-schoolers likes these to help the kids understand time. She can use them to explain how long they will do a task, for example. The 3-5 year Olds are fascinated with these hourglass and love to watch the sand sift down.These are well-made and colorful. Just what I expected.

Each timer times a different length of time. The timers are made of plastic and are about 5” tall.I just used my phone timer to check the accuracy of the 1 minute, 3 minute and 5 minute timer. The 1 minute was exact according to the phone timer. The other two had about 3 seconds more sand according to my phone.I didn’t check the other timers since a few seconds difference over a longer period of time isn’t noticeable. I mean, if you really need precision, you wouldn’t reach for a sand timer!I love these timers but I think my daughter who is a teacher will end up with a lot, if not all of them. These would be an amazing teaching tool for teaching time. But also they’d be good for children to develop a sense of time by noticing the sand when working in a classroom setting.I just wanted to timers for Pictionary or speed chess or other games. I guess we can share the set,I recommend these timers!

Got these for game nights, for those classics like Scrabble where you want to keep the play flowing and not get bogged down by people taking forever with their turn.Timers appear to be of decent quality and should be able to withstand a degree of knocking and bumping. The amount of sand is pretty accurate, the 60-second was bang-on, while the three-minute ran around 3:10 and the five-minute was 5:15, so only off by a small percentage, which is absolutely acceptable for how these timers will be used. Haven't checked out the longer timers, but I'd expect they may fall within the same degree of accuracy.
