Great for kids
This is an excellent value for a net for kids to have fun with. Folds into a very small package, too, so it's easy to add to a bag for fun in the park or on a walk. The kids will definitely need help opening and closing it, as the latch requires a bit of strength. But once it's opened up, I've been very pleased with it.

Falls apart easily
Got this so my four year old grandson and I could catch tadpoles at our local pond. The rubber tube coating that holds the front of the net to the metal side supports slips off every time we get some heavy, wet leaves in the net. The net is collapsed, making it useless until you replace the tubing. We can put it back on, but it's annoying. Wish I had spent a little more and gotten a better one.

I had no issues with this net. Works well.

Junk!
Handle came off before I ever put a fish in it. Lures get so hung up you have to cut them out. JUNK DO NOT BUY!

Collapses to small size for easy storage in my kayak
I love this net. It collapses to a small size with a carrying case that makes it easy to store in the kayak until I need it. It is easy to open to full length and do it quickly so you can keep it small until you need it for netting. But if you are having a good day of fishing, you may want to keep it full size. The netting is strong and should hold up to long fighting fish. It's not big enough for really long fish but big enough for a moderate sized pike. To open it, just pull it open. To collapse it, just press down on the piece I show in the picture.

Good product
Good size gloves are not really for fishing but good grip

A nice little folding and compact landing net, that still has much more room for improvement.
We currently use an inherited small- handled, fixed size landing net - Just horrible. It is awkward to pack and heavy. This new landing net HAS to be a better option than what we currently have. The main reason for selecting this Landing net were all its features vs it price. Great bang for your buck, in that sense. However, this does not automatically mean that it is a great landing net.Overall this Landing net is not bad at all - on the surface of it.The concept and idea are excellent and I love that it folds awy away into its own small bag. A beautiful thing indeed! I really especially liked the ingenius way, that it uses a thumb-button, to collapse the net back down to its smallest size again. This little budle came with a pair of small, thin 1/2 rubberized gloves that would fit most women, but not most men.The length is sill not really adequate in my opinion, but it is definitely better than the crappy net that we were struggling with. The weakest apsect of this landing net are its thin poles and screw-down connectors that tighten at the 3 telescopic intersections. These connectors are made of very thin, flimsy plastic. Why they cut the corners on the quality of the THE most important aspect on any telescopic device is beyond me. Save the money and skip the gloves. Put the money into better pole sections and heavy duty connectors.Without sounding like a doom-sayer, these are almost certainly going to fail at some point while fishing on a cold frosty morning and most likely, at the critcial point when you are just abut to land your best fish of the day.For this reason I am always going to be worrying if today is the the day when either one or, both of those connectors fail. For this reason, I can only rate this otherwise very nice product, with 3 stars.I do hope that moving forward, they lengthen this landing net by at least another foot, and put significantly more robust pole-sections and screw-down connectors on this landing net.
